Models Giveaway

Hey guys

I've been doing models of ships and bases for a few months now for different game mods and I released them for public download so everyone could enjoy them and use them as you wish. Figured I'd spread the word here also in case you might find a use forthem.

I have to say these look really cool

I can see quite a few of them being used in mods, I'm not very able at model manipulation, but hopefully they won't need scaled and will fit right in.

in regards to them are they all your own work? how would you feel if Vice ( the guy who's made the evochron games ) put them into his game?

There is a mod guide for download in the download section for legends ( and the other games ) and you can download the demo for free too ( hell if you can make them work as a simple download pack for one of the games I'll buy you the game

so you can keep up the work )

They are all done by me. 95% of them are original designs of mine, the rest are made after sketches or pics provided by guys who really wanted a certain *known* model in their game mod but couldn't find it on the web to download it.
As I said, feel free to use my models for anything you want and ... as I wrote in my blog "You can edit my ships, space stations and everything else, however you like (rename, retexture, edit the mesh, etc)" , just remember where you got them from, that's it

Sol's model looks more like Babylon station # 3 (Babylon 5 was the fifth station built and launched as a joint venture between Earth Force and the Minbari), which mysteriously vanished. Sol's model also has features which are reminescent of both Shadow and Vorlon ship technologies.

I think there are a couple of reasons that no-one has posted pics, only a few of us have any skills at using models, and most of yours are in .3ds or .obj when the game only accepts .x format models, this pretty much makes it impossible for the users without the skills to do it

There may be another reason why no one has posted pics, and probably will not. I looked in the customizing kit that came with Legends (because those models are awesome and I really want to see them in game) and could not find a way to replace the default stations. Is this possible in Legend's current state? If not, the only way to see it ingame is to use it as a "ship" model.

Anyway, nice work SolCommander! Your talents certainly put my efforts to shame

I hope we can get some of your stuff ingame, as it is very high quality work.

Or a city (if it was a ship, you'd be chasing it all over the galaxy trying to dock with it).

Hhhhhhhmmmm, a Station with a Mantis jump drive, interesting concept no wonder no one can find it or remember where it is....as soon as you get to it it jumps 10 sectors away....go figure.....LOL......

as to the models being in 3ds format, if you install Blender (a first class free modeling software), import the 3ds model then export in .x format. the models will definitely need rescaling though, something im not to good at.

What do you mean by first class free modeling software? First class software specialy 3d modeling is never cheap or free unless it is a 30 day trial version....LOL...

It may not be first class but Blender is good

You can do some pretty funky stuff with it.
