Having seen some of the excellent ships that have been created I thought I would finally have a go myself.

These are the pics of my Stingray MkI - It's still work in progress as I am have some issues with exporting it.

Notice the ram on the front, just right for nutting the Vonari that get in your way.:P:P:P

It looks great!

The hard part will be mapping the texture and getting the scale...the two hardest parts will be mapping the texture, fitting the scale, and getting the engines aligned...the three hardest parts...erm... among the hardest parts will be such diverse elements as the texture, the scale...

Wait, I'll come in again.

It might be Marvin or then it could be an R4 unit.

I found some of the problems mentioned, scaling etc but I'm working on it. As it's my first attempt at a direct X model as opposed to a pure Raytracing effort I thought it was quite niffty.

Fascinating design! I am loving the new designs everyone is coming out with. Cheops, yours is definitely one of the more interesting. Good work!

I would like to see what it looks like w/o the forward canard. Looks like something the Wright Brother's came up with. If you ask my opinion and no-one has...;)

Now that I think about it, you're right. It does look like something they would've designed. It's still got a nice look though. Looks (to me at least) like a nice combination of sci-fi and steampunk.

 I like it. Even the "bumper" in front ... 'though, if you make a cockpit* for the ship, the bumper will probably be blocking the pilot's view.

* If those panels in the front are viewports, then I suspect the pilot must be reclining in order to fit in the space provided. Which just happens to be the optimum position when pulling positive Gs.

I should have made the font ram a little lower to clear the view from the cockpit, something intend to correct. Along with the engine problem and few few other issues.

The ram was supposed to house the lasers and the tractor/mining beam, so strictly speaaking its not a canard.

That would be cool if you could move the tractor beam so it originates from the ram.

Error 163 is a common Windows error. Error 163 is usually caused by missing system files, wrong system settings or a corrupted registry file.

Raven is right. @Cheops, use forum "search" , you will find something about this error that members talked about earlier. Hope it helps.
