Couple of things to check:
- Make sure your desktop is set to 32-bit color depth.
- If you're using security software or settings, make sure the game has access to and can create files in the save data folder: usually c:\\sw3dg\\EvochronLegends
- Verify the config file for the game was created successfully, if it did, it would usually be c:\\sw3dg\\EvochronLegends\\sw.cfg
If that file isn't there, then the game could not create it on your system, so it can't save needed configuration data. If the file is there, delete or rename it and launch the game again to have it rebuild the file based on what it detects.

Hi ryukage19, windows XP is not a problem as most of us use it. Have you tried a complete uninstall and reinstall? I'm just guessing here and Vice will be better at helping you.

Wait a while when the black screen appears. Depending on your Computer specs it might take some 5 to 10 seconds from the black screen to start up the intro to the game. If nothing happens in a minute then it might be your resolution settings. The game only works on certain resolution settings and all have to be 32bit color depth mode..

And, if you're in a hurry (like, you were supposed to be on line at noon and it's now ten minutes after), the black screen can seem to last a lot longer than 10 seconds.Originally posted by Maarschalk

Open Impulse, select Games tab, then right click on Evochron and select "View Registration". That will bring your license information up. The first string before the semicolon is your reference ID, the string after is the key.

Nope. Send me an e-mail (starwraith.com > contact) with your ID and key, I'll verify it's valid and we can go from there. Also, if you are copying and pasting the values, make sure not to accidently capture space characters, which is easy to accidently include.

Got it, thanks. I've included the likely cause in my e-mail reply.
