If you want to use it in MP, I suggest you keep poly count around 500-1000.
You will use 512x512 map and It uses for other military ships as well. For this reason, If you use very different wrapped texture, other military ship will take this too and they would look weird. Keep in mind for texturing.
Using plane textures help alot. Other ships affect less. If you want to do full pack (6 military ships), your job would be easier, 'cause you will map other ships too with the same material. You can use very unique material If you do a military pack.

If we have seperated texture for each military ship for mods, I will do a BSG pack, all military ship will use different 512X512 material. But this is not good for ram usage and Mp. For this reason I am using another different method to render them only one 512X512 material again but all still will look different too.
