Saitek X52 Problems/Issues

Post by bsdude010 »

I just installed the demo and set my controller to my joystick. As soon as I got into the game, the ship continuously turned without any joystick response. I went into the options and tried to calibrate the joystick. During the testing part, non of the sliders moved as I moved the joystick.

I've had my X52 for years and it has worked flawlessy in the past so I do not think it the sticks malfunctioning.

Things i've done to try to fix it.

I have cleared the X52 profile and tested it in the control panel and the X52 works fine.

I unplugged and replugged in the X52.

I disabled most all my USB ports in the system manager.

Does anyone have any ideas? Please help, this game looks awesome so far and I want to be able to play it. Thanks

Hello bsdude010, welcome to the forum and the Sim. U might try to increase the dead zone. I am not an expert on this so standby and others will try to help.:)

Thank you thetiebers, I have tried increaseing the dead zone both in the X52 settings and in game. It has not helped. It is as if the game does not see the joystick with the exception of it turning and pitching in one direction without stoping or responding.

Do you have any other control devices plugged in? The game may be picking up something else in device slot one and you'll just need to switch to whatever device slot the X52 is on, then map those controls. As a first step, click on the arrows at the top of the configure controls menu and see if a different device value provides a response from the X52.

Hi bsdude010, Welcome to the Game and Forum. Did you check your deadzones in Control panel/Printers and Otherhardware/Game controlers? Also make sure that all your rotary buttons are set to 0!
And as Vice says check other control devices you might have connected!;)

Ok, bsdude010,
I have heard of this problem before. I would have answered sooner, but I forgot the fix.
You may not believe this [I don't], but this is what I have been told to do:
Plug the controller in, start the game and...
let it spin! I was told by Saitek that in about five minutes, it should stop and won't happen again. Supposedly it will self-center.
Hey, you have nothing to lose and we can hope...
I wish you luck...

Thank you everyone for your help and honestly, I am not sure what I did to get it WORKING!!!! THATS RIGHT! WOOHOO! The X52 finally responds in the game. I unplugged a belkin gamepad, increaed my deadzones on the stick, disabled some logitech virtual controllers for my mouse..

what finally did it was reinstalling the latest driver for the X52? Whatever, it works :)

Thanks again everyone that responded

I can assure you the Belkin gamepad was at least part of the problem!
