Try out a new city?

If you're going to mess with planet sizes, might just as well make it definable: PlanetSize=n.

Maybe do the same thing for stars. And forget about moons ... they'd be replaced with PlanetSize=1 (or thereabouts).

Here's a crazy thought, while we're on sizes...
I bet, by the time we get to the point in real life that we have in the game technologically, there'd be some kind of solution for this...
What about, on a few planets (but not all, to mix it up) a vacuum chamber you can actually jump directly into, skipping the descent down to the surface entirely. It'd be a pretty high end feature, like an analog to a major airport for us nowadays. Maybe even requiring a toll fee.
Otherwise, I don't mind the current sizing of the planets. I'd like to see some bigger and smaller sizes, but you couldn't tell the difference anyhow as you're never on two at once, lol! They're big enough to be grand in scale and immeasurable, that's all that matters to me. Moons, though, I'd like to see many more of and different sizes. Especially for known objects in the Sol system :D

It looks spectacular outside the game, but when I went to download it to try it inside the game, the link seems to no longer work (it says it has either expired or reached a certain amount of downloads). Do you have another link? I'd also be happy to host it for you, and/or set you up with an FTP account.

EDIT: Aha! I found the right link on page 2. The link in the first post is the one I had trouble with. Thanks, can't wait to try it! :)

My oar in as well. I try to avoid cities for the same reason. Ruins the immersion. I like the decent through the atmosphere, but then finding a perfectly square city so large that it follows the curve of the planets surface (like it was the size of europe) feels silly. Especially since you practicly can count the buildings on your way down.

not meant as a critisism. Having seen the love you put into making the rest of Legends, I am sure there are reasons for cities being so odd. Just saying why I avoid them. If better ones pop up, I would love to explore them.

Earl, your city looks great from the video and screenshots! I'd love to try it but it seems the download link has expired. Could you make it available again?

Thanks!

Could someone repackage and upload this so myself and others can enjoy it? The youtube video truly looks fantastic.

Alright, no worries. I'm just a bit impatient to try it now that I'm back up and running with a new joystick and everything =)

You'll have to fly back to planet Serene to see it this time. The global default is something new.

The new city is a cool concept, although it appears it may be missing some faces/textures. The central building is untextured and the sun collecting dishes are see through from the central area.

LOL, yeah.... I have no idea when I'll be able to finish it out. The file I have in my modeling program is much more complete, but still, work and all :(
