Vegetation in Evochron Legends, how exactly does it work, is it just random placement of sprites or are they planes? Any info vice?

(something I'm working on... textures may be too large at this point)

I'm not done yet... but that's as low poly as I wanted to go... could remove a few of the "fronds" but it loses something. I have a few ideas for deciduous style forests ala IL-2... which wouldn't be nearly as harsh as having complete 3d models.

Also, if there is anything that hurts me more than being stabbed... it's texturing... all textures I show are... for lack of a better word, temporary.

I'm not sure if palm trees grow on other planets! Unless aliens took some coconuts and planted them long time ago! I do not think they would survive space travel! Although I have seen some driffting on solar waves in space! Maybe they did originally come from space driffting from the planet Oasis LOL!:P:P:P

Can we mix 3-4 kind of plants?
If It is possible, planet surface looks better and better.

For this you can see PARKAN 2 screenshots.
This game uses same method, plants look good.

iirc most of the planets have been terrformed to some degree or other, thus the plants would (most likely) have their origins in earth species. Though I'd imagine over the course of a couple of hundred years they would evolve into new species but would still retain most of the characteristics of their 'earthen brethren'.

The plants are structured meshes. The option to import custom plant objects will be available in the next update (filenames will be grass.x and grasslow.x for the 'high' and 'medium'/'low' detail settings and the folder will be \\environment). The more variations you include in the object (such as multiple trees of different sizes/shapes), the better the overall look will be.

Nice! Vegetation is, IMO, the only place where significant improvements could be made to make the game look better. I'd love to see some palm trees or deciduous forests on planets!

I'm working on master meshes then Vice... also, is there any kind of climate banding on the planets?

And I was bored and palm trees are easy to make... err... cough... uhh... the "razor" palm of Olympus Prime has an odd symmetry due to the gravitational pull

You can set the global climate condition in the universe data file.
