I know this was something that folks wanted added for some reason, but I find that the new "absolute" velocity indicator runs into the other numbers and makes the whole mess harder to read for me.
I don't care what my "absolute" velocity is in actuality. If I'm in battle, I look at the closing rate of the target ship. If I'm flying casual, I point in the direction I'm going and see what my velocity is that way. If I'm breaking atmo, I look at the forward velocity and lateral velocities, but mainly to keep the forward velocity under about 1450 or so.
In general, though, "absolute" velocity is of no value to me at all, and it is making it hard to read the other gauges, so I want to remove it, if possible.
Can I remove the absolute velocity indicator?

Can I remove the absolute velocity indicator?
I think I was partially implemented for those who wanted to experiment with gravity effects and attempting orbits and the like.
No option I know about to change it. Maybe it can be added for the next update build.

Can I remove the absolute velocity indicator?
Not sure but I thought the new velocity indication system could be switched off - I'll see if I can track the thread down!

Can I remove the absolute velocity indicator?
Apart from a piece of electrical tape over the readout, I don't think so. . . . don't mock it - that was the solution a Mercedes trained and certificated mechanic recommended to a friend of mine to solve his (distracting) 'always on' oil pressure warning light!
Perhaps someone who is better than me at customising HUDs knows whether it is possible to show only part of the velocity readout. I've modded a HUD to show shield energy percentages and location coordinates and both arrive as a 'package' - all four shield percentages and full location coordinates.

Can I remove the absolute velocity indicator?
Maybe I can make boxes around the areas of these displays, so the velocity won't run into the countermeasure number, which runs into the shield/weapon fader.
At the moment, I can't tell how many CMs I have, unless I start counting digits.
Maybe if the SET and VEL indicators were reversed, the actual velocity indicator could drop to the next line, where it would be less bothersome.

boxes sounds like a good solution

Part of your problem is that the default font and size never seem to mesh with other readouts. Leastwise, I've never noticed a bleed-over.
