I am basically interested in enhancing the looks of the game.
Is there an organised list of graphics mods? (or any mods for that matter)
Where "organized" is not just "a list" (although I believe even this is missing too), but something that also has development status (like last update date), compatibility comments, screenshots, maybe a review etc.
I don't see a pinned thread here or anything.

So... Hints? Must have mods? Which? Why? Where?

Yes and no.
I found (already days ago) those two threads:

Both list some mods (why not a single thread?).
Both don't give any real info on the mods. If they work on latest version (or at least 2.X), if they are maintained, what they do etc.

What I would love as a startup guide, is not only first steps etc. (which actually I haven't felt the need to read yet) - but a nice proposed (and updated) set of mods that "make EM look like it should" or something.

BTW, maybe this game is nice for Steam Workshop?

I have installed some mods after all.

I need something to improve planet "content" though.
Flora improvement and maybe cities.
In the list there is pointer to a flora mod but I am confused with finding the latest links to the actual mod.
Also the city mod doesn't have working screenshots any more.
Same issue with high resolution capital ships...
Can anybody help?

There is an issue with the capital ships mod I think. Vice increased the size of ships(and planets and other things) by 400% to make the smaller ships more visible. As a result the cap ship mod (created for the original EM) look tiny!

There is a relatively new cap ships mod which works with the EM expansion. Leastwise, they work on my computer. I have the mod ... but not the link. :(

Yep, Pilot Raven0 reworked Pilot Leatherpoker's original cap ships mod in order to make them compatible for EM 2.XX. The Vonari cap ship (ship2_v.x) didn't 'make the cut' due to visual/graphic alignment problems with the thruster placement. And, due to the global ships 400% size scale-up in EM 2.XX, there were also some surface scaling/appearance issues as well. Pilot Raven0 left the Von cap ship in the pack, both to illustrate this and in hopes that someone could/might fix it eventually. The other cap ship mods included in the set work real well. Suggest not loading on the Von cap ship mod file for your enhanced Evochron experience. ;)
