I have been building and re-building my second pit for about 5 years now. It is intended to be very multi-purpose (F-22 / Evochron Starcruiser / F-18 / Colonial Viper).
Here are a few shots of the inside of my “Evochron ship.
[/URL]
All the buttons, levers and what-not are programmable and connect via USB. The MFDs are a home brew with 5 menu modes (the 5 button/LED combos across the top), with 10 choices in each mode (50 commands). With the ICP and other doo-dads this makes 80 odd programmable buttons (130 if you count the duplicate MFD functions) + the Cougar stick and throttle. (I know, a bit much for Evochron) The LCD displays were recently upgraded along with the video capture method. The MFD displays are 7 displays that are truncated by my “firm-key menus. The normal on-screen stuff (3D radar, targeting, and ship status areas) are all easily displayed within the current program configuration via screen mags to different monitors. This pit keeps growing and evolving. It is mounted on castors, to taxi into a corner when not flying.
This sort of thing can add a lot to immersion and is a fun hobby on its own.

Here is a pilot view. (Sorry for the glare from the flash) Next time I will draft someone who can actually work a camera.

Very nice! Looks clean and professional, I hope mine comes out that good. What did you use for a seat and main display?

Awesome.
Do you know you can adjust degrees of MFDs in Evochron?
Full flat to the screen(degree=0)?

Verb, I'm with you on that... I'm thinking I'll actually start building my crewstation sometime in the near future (I worked on helicopters, don't like the term cockpit )

I am so envious. Nice work.
Pay no attention to me!
I\'m just a weather balloon. And some swamp gas... uhh... refracted the light of Venus or something.
Yeah, that\'s it. Definitely not a spaceship, no sir.

The seat is a gaming chair with speakers near your ears and a subwoofer positioned where it will give you the most shake and rumble. The main display is a 42" LCD display / television (Sharp) running 1920 x 1???.
You did not ask about the shell, but it started life as an Aimsworth Viper II.

Thanks warsign!
I read your tip above and found the guages.txt reference in the customization kit.
BTW:
Nice work on all of the ship mods you have created.

Hi Vice,
Hopefully, here is the first of the large images. I had not uploaded images before and was having trouble with the preview. I finally shrunk everything down to thumbnails and the preview worked.
BTW:
Legends is awesome. The graphics still just make me stop and stare at times. I also like the gravity dynamics. I have not had a lot of play opportunities this week, but am trying to make a buck or two for upgrades when I can.
Congratulations on another hit!

Very nice idea with the MFP's Hopsalot. I looked at doing something simular with a small touchscreen or two, but that will have to wait for next years tax refund(if there is one). Also, I was playtesting once I mounted my screen--I noticed that my head and body began to move/react to my onscreen motion. IE: ducking and weaving while doing a high speed run around some asteroids. Do you also find this effect on your system? Or do you get used to it?

All 3 of my screens are touch screens. During the last upgrade process I considered losing the MFD panels and making touch menus, but decided to leave things for the time being (keep the buttons) and maintain the "genericness" of the pit. (Also worried about adding 3 more USB input devices (that would make 7).)
I understand what you are saying with the run through asteroids and such. (Leaning into the turns). Some of this may just be the big monitor. I find that I have more physical reactions to things like wind turbulence. In some cases this feeling probably goes the other way as you now have a ship "around" you, which gives a slightly altered perspective.

Holy crap. That is amazing. All I have is a laptop and a X52 pro (I miss my la-z-boy!)
If only I had the technical know-how to set up screens like that, and the ability to ask for certain unusual parts at a store without getting blank stares. I once asked if they had those little infrared light bulbs and had to explain that it was and what I wanted it for before the guy had any idea what I was talking about. It's so hard getting anything awesome here in the UK. I wanted to get my hands on a high-power handheld laser I could modify to make a laser gun (no disintegration, but you can burn things, and show off too) but they only allow those little pointers here (1mW limit). I guess I'll have to use a blu-ray laser (nowhere near as powerful as some 750mW lasers you can get in the US, but has a pretty violet-blue effect)
