Any up-to-date mods?
I ask this because I tried several times to get certain sound files to play, but no luck. A lot of these mods are 4 or 5 years old.
I watched a YT vid of someone using a mod that had a female voice, similar to Elite, doing a pre-flight checklist, and countdown on the FTL.
Any help regarding this would be extremely helpful.
Thanks!

Re: Any up-to-date mods?
Most modifications/customizations should still work, but the folders with custom files now need to be placed in a different location. Instead being placed in the root game folder, customizing folders (ie \hud, \music, \sounds, etc) need to now go in the '\media' folder inside the game's install folder. So if you move those to the new location, most should still work. There are some changes and differences, which are outlined in the new customizing kit here: https://starwraith.com/evochronlegacy/c ... readme.htm

Yeah, most of my (and other) mods are graphical in nature (usually for the HUD or the navigation chart). They all had to be moved in SE to the media folder. But that voice mod was cool and probably should still work. I just don't remember where I saw it. If you find it, please post the location here.

Re: Any up-to-date mods?
I just got 2 error messages:
1.Failed to read OGG file in the main.agc at line 180380.
2. Image 18 cannot be used as a texture while it is being used with Set Render To Image.

I have the sound files, including the female voice stuff, but they just don't play.

I'm pretty sure Vice will be taking a look at those errors in short order.

For the error (they relate to the same issue), the format may need to be changed. If you want to e-mail me ( starwraith.com > contact ) the file you are trying to load along with the folder it is being placed in, I'll check into what may be needed.

Re: Any up-to-date mods?
For the life of me I cannot remember where I got it. If you'd like I could send the 2 sound folders to you, basically the same 2 I just sent Vice.Marvin wrote: ↑Thu Mar 11, 2021 6:44 pm Yeah, most of my (and other) mods are graphical in nature (usually for the HUD or the navigation chart). Re: Any up-to-date mods?
It was indeed just a formatting issue. The new audio format for the alert files is 'ogg', rather than 'wav'. The others can all still be wav though, just not the alerts. I've sent the '\alerts' folder back to you with the files converted to ogg.

Re: Any up-to-date mods?
There is a bug with that system I noticed, a filename string isn't properly transferred, so odds are, the default original sequences will still play. I'll be sorting out a fix for that for the next update. If you'd like a pre-release test build to work with, just let me know and I can send over a download link once it's ready.

Re: Any up-to-date mods?
Oddly, if you put the ogg format files in the folder with the wav file extension, things load and work like they are supposed to. So I'll send that set back to you as well. Just keep both the ogg files and the new wav files I send you in the same folder and it will work for now.

Re: Any up-to-date mods?
Thanks, again! And yes, it works now. I've been test driving for a half hour and my 'little miss FTL girl' is chiming in my ears.

Re: Any up-to-date mods?
Glad it's working well now. Update has just rolled out with the fix, so it will use the 'ogg' filenames properly now at this point.

Re: Any up-to-date mods?
If the new update is today's then I don't get the message when launching the game.

Re: Any up-to-date mods?
It should eventually, the game checks periodically. For the direct download version, you can grab it immediately from the game's website at your convenience.

Re: Any up-to-date mods?
I made sure the option to get the message is On, restarted the game, but I still don't get the message. And somehow I'm logging into MP anyway.

Re: Any up-to-date mods?
I guess this means any mods simply need an updated conversion to "ogg" format if they are solely alerts?

Re: Any up-to-date mods?
Alerts, yes. All other sounds should be able to remain as 'wav'.
