Using TrackIR 4 in Arvoch Conflict...
A short video is available showing the game being played with TrackIR. It shows looking around the cockpit a bit and a few quick dogfights.

Hey, looks cool. Almost makes me want to buy such a TrackIR 4 thingie. I'd almost say it's too bad I'm spending so much on my girlfriend at the moment .

How about a TrackIr 3 Pro with version 4.1 build 28 of the software? I t works with AH2 and FS2004 but I cannot get it going in the demo.Originally posted by Vice

Yeah, it'd be nice to have one of those, but I'm so used to plain mouse/keyboard control etc. that I don't want to switch.Originally posted by tha_rami

Priorities, Rami. Just tell your girlfriend that you need a TrackIR 4 device and that's all there is to it.
I'm sure she'll understand...

I got it going. I had updated the software but not the Game Profiles. D'oh!
Track Ir works very well. There is a little jumpiness when centering up and the HUD appears but fortunately it is possible to shoot (and hit) without the HUD.

I am flying with mouse and keyboard right now (until I make some headway on programming my HOTAS) and the Track IR is still a big help both in SA and immersion. Not going into the unfriendly depth of space with out it.Originally posted by Jeremy

Seriously, the older version (Track IR 3) works so maybe you can find one on Ebay or for something less than the Track IR 4 goes for. Also Arvoch doesn't seem to require the Vector Expansion so you could have a few extra bucks as well.

Keep in mind that new games are added to the TrackIR software and to obtain support for those games, the software needs to be updated from time to time. To update the software, use this procedure:How about a TrackIr 3 Pro with version 4.1 build 28 of the software? I t works with AH2 and FS2004 but I cannot get it going in the demo.
Launch the TrackIR software. Click on Help, then Check for Game Updates...
From there, it will download the latest game information for the software program. Simply verify Arvoch Conflict is now listed in the Profiles tab section, plug in your TrackIR device, then launch the game. Open the Options menu from the game's main menu, then click on 3D Head Tracking. If the game detects your device, the mode will switch to On and everything should work fine.
You don't give up keyboard or mouse control to use TrackIR. TrackIR simply controls your view from the cockpit, it's not a flight control device. You use it to look around in 3D space using the rotation and movement of your head.Yeah, it'd be nice to have one of those, but I'm so used to plain mouse/keyboard control etc. that I don't want to switch.

Yes, the gunsight is only visible when looking directly ahead. It is suspended in a Xenon mist... ... ... ... lol, if you get that reference, you're as old as I am.Track Ir works very well. I have to admit it looks 'cool' but I would rather they made it as something you wear than an appliance that sits on top of the monitor. It would go great with my "chair"! Even if the whole thing were like a 'helmut', that would be even better.
[Obviously, I haven't quite figured out how this "quote" thing works, but you can read the message! lol]

TrackIR is a device to improve view controls in games, Just like a mouse or keyboard, the TrackIR interface gets controlled by the movements of your head. You move your head, and it controles the view in the game. Arvoch Conflict has 3 DOF
(Pitch, Rotation and Z movements).
Anyway, its nice to be back!:)

Nice to see you back, Kserver!
About TrackIR:
If you are looking sideways(to make the screen look sideways), you won't be able to see the monitor, so I'm kinda confused about that.

It projects your in game view with a greater rate of rotation/movement then your head is moving (and this is also adjustable in case you want even faster response). One of the best examples of this is the Aces High II video available on their site: http://files.naturalpoint.com/video/gam ... 00kbps.wmv
You can see the player just moves his head a few degrees to obtain 180 degrees of rotation in the game. To me, it looks like he's using the default sensitivity configuration, but you can increase it or decrease it as desired.
