"unknown" ships ?

Le objets inconnous are the "Unknowns of Actarius". Several builds ago, Vice "adjusted" the game software to allow "incursions" into known space, from Actarius. Greatest area of occurrance was in Cerulean, oddly enough. ;) Clan Bro Gorf first introduced me to them in Actarius. And, I've battled them in Cerulean with pilots Powell, AirAssassin, and Wavey. When the Unknown appeared in Cerulean, game software identified them as red "Vonari B-models", but with their own saucer-icon appearance. Everything else as described stayed the same. Once upon a time, Powell and I bunkered up in 360 degree coverage of each other, whilst AA and Bro Wavey played "Nigel" for us. :) The Unknowns have some very challenging flight characteristics. Should you employ missiles against them, fairly soon their shields will adapt. Watch for gravity wells. In attack-mode, don't get close enough to them so that their shields over-lap yous. As it has a deleterious effect on your weapons suite, trust me. Their flight dynamics are such that they are able to adjust/apply thrust thru any axis/axes. Watch for that. Fairly soon, you'll be down to solely cannon and lasers against them.
Good luck, bon chance/a Dieu, buena suerte' y via con Dios ! ;) :P:P:P:P:P:P:P:P:P

Check the Screenshots slice, there are several entries of the Unknowns, up-close and personal.:cool:

I assume these are the same ones I ran into at the end of the second IMG quest which ended at Actarius. It was strange -- the sysem is rated as Good, but when I deployed a sensor array it showed a plethora of red blips! I jumped to one and aproched it peacefully and was promptly attacked! Ship showed as "unknown" and had a saucer shape. Used guns (kinetic) in it's attack - no missiles. My Excalibur took it down with one salvo. The next one attacked the same way, but I had no probems takng it out with my Maxim-R / Fusion combo.

Any other unknown ships around elsewhere?

Well that's funny but I can't remember those flying saucers from the IMG quest. Maybe I didn't pay attention. When they are red, they are all the same to me :D .

They are not in the IMG, they are in the

When I did the Quest for Peace I did not encounter any unknowns in Actarius!, They must be scared of Earth Landers!......;):P:cool:

On another excursion into Actarius I did not see any unknows as described above either. Then I decided to built a Station and that they did not like, suddenly they started to pop up all over the place!......;):P:cool:

By the way, I selected a possible sprouting system for the GQC... possibly maybe... a small one, far far away from any gated road.... maybe this is the good one..

 IM has been forced to abandon many of its "boondocks" star systems and will be happy to pass along the coordinates of at least one system. All we ask is that you be good to its citizens.

Hmmm. this is all true about the Unknowns in Actarius... but just a few days ago I found one "Unknown" flying on the surface of the Earth... :/ After greeting him, he started spouting doom and gloom about the human race, so I promptly began making him eat some CFH Industrial cannons.

If he was a happy camper before hand, well... he certainly wasn't after me... lmao. Us Earth landers will not tolerate such unpleasant visitors to the Earth.

He wasn't flying a traditional saucer, but seemed to favor the Actarian Unknowns.

could be an option, send coordinates by mp and i'll check that place while in the area...

don't worry, we are very friendly to citizens, till they are not edible :)

I must check something before gettin back to north, spin a little around something, some system not registered on the map, the interactive one, seejay's ones ? i forgot at the time... however, i do love unidentified places...

I've found launching from either Cerulean or Atlas, headed for Actarius, to be a little more facile in terms of time/hops/fuel consumption. The StarWolves used to have an embassy compound there, on the Starport 6 platform. Wonder if it's still there....

SP6, one in O447 calling somethin like [IM]was here
and another one just near actarius called something like.. dunno... "exploration" maybe... something cool like that :)

i've done some trades with both of them :)
