dummy crew question

Post by DaveK »

I've never tried a crew before - I wonder if you can guess why I'm trying one now? :D

I can have a max of 5 crew slots but there are only 4 crew types:

Navigation
Weapons
Science
Engineer

What am I missing here? :)

Yeah, if they wouldn't be so blasted impatient. I could see them refusing to pay part of the fare if you took an hour or more. But I've gotten passengers to destination within 10 or 15 minutes and lost 40%.

Now that ain't right. And that's why I don't haul passengers anymore. Those buggers are so impatient and stingy, it's just not worth it.

I only look for short range passengers, whom I can deliver in only a handful of jumps :) But I do agree with you Janus... if they want to cut the pay... the airlock is right there... :P

Thanks Vice! - succinct and to the point! :D

Thanks for the info about how tight passengers are - perhaps the economic situation is worse than Governments are letting on! :P:P

I don't care how tight the economic situation is. I contract to deliver someone for a fee, I expect the fee to be paid in full. Now if there are extreme delays (45 minutes to an hour or more), I can see giving a discount. That's called value added atonement.

But deducting 10 or 15 percent every 4 or 5 minutes is not reasonable nor is it anywhere near realistic. Try doing that to a cabbie. He'll say pay the rest of the fare or I'll have my dispatcher call the police.

I think this needs to be tweaked to make it more realistic in the upcoming release. This is a sim, not an arcade game.

To bad you can't hold them for Ransom or sell them to another system to pay their fare.:P:D:o

Lol, I love this idea! :) :P Though you can hold them hostage... If you don't mind not docking at stations or cities :P
