AI Mining?

If I go mining with my hired fleet in SP, I can get as far as ordering them to mine asteroids (at which point my hired merc goes flying around randomly) - how do I get him to uh... give me the stuff he mines?

He does not give you the stuff he mines you go to sell the stuff you mined and they should all sell their stuff they mined and you get a small percentage of the sale! I have never hired a fleet to mine but that is what I think I read of how it works or you have to use a mining probe in conjunction with a fleet!....
