Hey Cheri/Vincent,
That's an automatic system which destroys incoming missiles. Some pilots like it because it doesn't use Counter Measures, which is different from the Auto CM Launcher. The limitation is that it is only effective when the missiles are approaching at a certain angle directly behind. So you can't rely on it to always protect you. However, in the thick of battle with thousands of missiles coming at you it can sometimes save your bacon! I always keep one installed by way of a secondary back up in case I don't get my CMs out in time.
