Other side of the evochron universe
Hi, guys!
This is a very interesting question. I'm wondering if I'll end up right back where I started if I keep on moving in the same direction like flying past SX 99999, SY 99999 and SZ 99999?? Thanks!
Cheers,
Vincent

Not sure if anyone but Vice can answer that question tho 99999 is not enough. My guess is he made it a signed long integer variable which would put it at about + or - 2,100,000,000 but thats only a shot in the dark.

Flash is right the longest traveled distance record wise is by me to SX: 300,000, SY: 0, SZ:-300,000. and that was not the end. I have not tried 999,999 yet, but that is next on my list of things to try!......

Hi, Maarschalk!!
Good luck on flying to SX 999,999, SY 999,999 and SZ 999,999!! I wonder how long it takes to travel that far out? Thanks!

Well you know when Luke says "Master Yoda you cant die" and Yoda answers "Ah, strong am I with the Force, but not that strong." Well my guess is Maarschalk actually IS that strong (and probably 950 years old too)

Well lets put it this way, you can travel to SOL by a wormhole. To get to the wormhole it takes 15 minutes from the nearest system. From post: 128834, Topic: tid=8790, author=Cheri50000 wrote:Hi, Maarschalk!!

Some parts of the universe you can not put a station in. This means if your trying to jump to there you will run out of fuel sooner before you get there.
Also, there is a limit on how fast you can go. I think I had one of my ships modify to hold the max amount of fuel and even using a gas planet to sling shot me to get up to 3k I ran out of fuel before I got to 10k. (Getting to that speed takes forever)
So I'm guessing it will take you days or even weeks to get to the edge of the universe.

Hi, Maarschalk!
How did you get to the other side of the evochron universe in 15 seconds? That doesn't seem possible!

Vincent

Hi, airassassin!
So you want to know how long it takes to get to the other side of the evochron universe, let's find out. So 1 sector is 2,000 kilometers, to travel 2,000 kilometers at the speed of 5,000 or 5 kilometers per second it'll take 400 seconds to travel 2,000 kilometers, so the other side of the evochron universe at the SX 999,999, SY 999,999 and SZ 999,999 coordinates, so that would be 999,999 X 2,000 = 1,998,000,000 kilometers divide by 5 = 399,600,000, so it'll take 399,600,000 seconds or little over a year to travel to the other side of the evochron universe at the speed of 5,000 or 5 kilometers.
Cheers,
Vincent

I'm hoping it's a derivative of the Single Player long jump exploit/bug, and am investigating adaptations of it at the moment, but have yet to succeed.
Memory poking would be a solution, but that doesn't seem in the spirit of the game, so I've discounted that as the method used.

I did a quarter of a million the hard way. a refuel/fly cycle every 2100 sectors took 90 minutes
After around 20K sectors you can only deploy fuel processors to refuel (rather than building a trade station) which takes fefuelling for 3 mins to 45 mins a time.
One advantage is that for 95% of the time there are no hostiles so you can have a coffee or do odd jobs!
Somewhere in the 150K sectors region you "break" the Clan Stats and get a polite "request" from USS and Vice to stop messing about out there and come home
You can continue in SP but it's lonely without the chat.
There are ghost planets, ghost ships and ghost nebulae out there, but really nothing much changes beyond 30K
Equipping a ship and paying for the various trade stations (<20K) and fuel processor (>20K) cost me just under a billion to reach the 250K; you also can't come back unless you are willing to spend the days (literally) and $$$ flying back.
Maar's magical "go where you want" crystals are as rare as veggie Reavers! Only he has them (or will have them for the forseeable future)

First you have to figure out how to land on earth and once you figure that out there is even a much smaller chance that you will figure this one out!......From post: 129009, Topic: tid=8790, author=Cheri50000 wrote:Hi, Maarschalk!
