Starting beacon quest?

I finished the mercenary quest line. I noticed from the guide that there are other beacon quest you can do. I returned to the start area and couldn't locate any beacons.

Not sure where to start but how can I do some other quest? Does it matter if im playing online or single player mode?

i think as "beacon" you mean distress calls? after the IMG questline there is no other quests to do other than contracts in various systems, stations, carriers etc. distress call is kind of like a random event which you can decide to do or not to do

Only contract or quest which you have to do in single player is IMG # 2 which is racing challenge that cannot be done in MP

Actually, there is a 'Quest for Peace', which is actually a mod. You can get it on SeeJay's site of awesomness, but you will have to look at the instructions for the installation. I never bothered with it.

Originally, Mercenary included the Legends and Renegades beacon quests (IIRC). But so much was added to the current game that Vice deleted* the old ability for beacons to transmit messages. Nonetheless, somebody with a good imagination could probably figure out how to make use of those beacon messages ... if s/he gave it some thought.

If you where looking at Mercenary for the Beacon quests then yes you where looking at the wrong game!

If you where looking at Renegades and/or Legends then you where looking at the right games. But since you mentioned game in singular form by relative deduction you must have been talking about Mercenary!.....
