I'm new to the game but I'm from the old privateer ilk so I know what it's all about. I'll be joining on multiplayer this weekend but for now I've been exploring on my own. I'm not a combat pilot but I've got a few kills under my belt, the ship handling takes some getting used to in a dog fight. I've just reached sol by going the long way and jumping from Sirius, was flying on fumes by the time I reached mars lol.

Thanks for the warm welcome, I'm going to stay in Sol till I can afford the star master frame but does anyone know where I can pick up a platinum mining laser later?

Hi Seraphim.

You might be able to pick one up in Sol actually.

In MP it's much easier to find stuff since players build stations and raise tech-level in systems
that are not that very high. That allows you to pick up better stuff in systems that normally
don't have them.

Atlas and Pearl are known to have great stuff available.

You could build stations to raise tech-level in SP as well but it takes a bit longer when you are alone.

I've got the mining beam and the starmaster frame now and came online briefly last night. Figured out that things are much lower priced online so I'll mine offline and buy a mantis drive online later then see what I can do in this crazy universe lol

This platinum beam is a godsend, I'm making 2mill for each run in Aries. Going to fill my last equipment slot with a cloaking device then get 6 Excalibur missile packs and two fulcrum torps that should let me handle just about anything.

You'll find out the six Excalibur missile packs won't work! You can trade 6 of them though! 5 from your Cargo bay and one from your hardpoints but then you can not load torpedos!.....

Excals take up all eight slots. What you see is just the main piece of equipment.

Yes, the Excalibur missile pack takes up all your eight missile hard points but only shows one hardpoint occupied in your HUD! So when you have an Excalibur installed you can not install any other missiles on your hardpoints......
