Tried the Gunner Binding the other night and I love it. I would love to build a ship that makes the best Gunner ship. What exactly is carried over from the 'gunner' ship and effects gameplay?
I know the primary weapons carry over, but not the missiles. But I've got a few other questions:
1. Does the agility/wings you pick effect your turn rate as a Gunner?
2. Will a Weapon Ops crew-member help with the primary weapon power while a Gunner?
3. Do the Cannon Relay System and Cannon Heatsink have any effect on your weapon systems if you equip them while a Gunner?
I can speculate on these but I'd rather have a definitive answer. If you know for certain, or are willing to test to find out and report back, that would be awesome.
Thanks!

Gunner Binding Questions
Hey Vil, welcome ! The wing set does not affect your turn-rate as a gunner. And, you have basically free range of movement within the plane. As a Tailgunner, you are essentially in a 360 degree ball turret of another ship, with your ship's then-current primary weapons set. Be they what they may, you may wish to consider power draws versus yield and range configurations. As a TG, your 0 degree heading is the primary pilot/ship 180 degree heading. Keep this in mind, as the TG mission is to protect your pilot's "6". Due to your free range of movement, the TG is very useful in the furball of the "swarm". A Wpns Ofcr will only help the primary pilot, if carried as current crew. You will also need to have the cannon heatsinks and relays installed as your equipment, before signing on as a TG. It also helps if the gaining ship is so equipped. As TG, you basically "carry over" your essential primary weapons support structure and equipment, a modified power supply, shielding of a sort, your HUD w/compass rose, and your center MFD radar gymbal. Target acquisition/designation stuff as usual. No command/order tabs on the HUD though, since as TG, you're for all intents and purposes a paying passenger aboard another's ship. You're paying with your equipment and expertise, in order to complete a mission or contract, do PvP, or whatever it is your hart auf hartz desires.

*EDIT* Additionally, keyboard keys "O" = closest hostile target, and "P" = next hostile target, (unless bound elsewhere) become rather important toggles as a TG. Key combo "Alt-R" may also be used (closest hostile target), or the keyboard "T" key to toggle through the various targets presented.

Magic Info! - does anyone mind if I add this to the "Merc Tech Manual" or the "Survival Manual" I'm creating?

No, Dave. I don't mind. Although, what I've written above are reflections on my own experience. You may wish to check with others, to verify the information.
