Hello all! I'm a new player here and I had a question about buying station licenses. If I purchase one for a station do I still have to pay hangar fees for items I store in that station? I have read here that it will waive any docking fees and I can purchase items for a discount, but I don't know about the hangar fees.
I'm enjoying the heck out of this game so far, and I may see some of you online once I get the hang of this a bit! Which server is it that most of you guys play on?

Welcome! I'm not sure, but I THINK you will still have to pay hangar fees. Someone more knowledgable than myself will be along to answer your question more definitevly, I'm sure. 
The Remula One server seems to be the most populated and it's the one I play on, but look around.

I guess I have a follow up question then. If I do have to pay hangar fees with a license, do you have to pay hangar fees on a station I build? I'm sure I have a ways to go before I can do that, but I'm just looking for some inexpensive item storage!

You still pay a hangar fee. But you can build a station in space where your reputation is either Moderate or Hostile and still dock without paying the docking fee ... or buying a license.-

Hello Mister Vertigo. Welcome to a great sim and forum.
As far as I know you always pay hangar fee for storage, no matter if it's a station/city or player built station.
I would recommend you to NOT store anything in a player built station since it can be destroyed and you'll lose everything in it.
