Having problems with the clan stat screen. Sometimes it takes awhile to show info but tonight I was on 3 times with nothing ever showing up. I did contracts and that used to make the stats show and I was told to fly through a gate but nothing worked this evening.

Ran into some issues tonight.

First, several times when I logged in tonight I got:

"Object construction error: 51,1268"

Not sure what that means, but I wasn't even trying to build anything. I had just logged on each time it happened.

Also, I noticed that the clan stats in the quad map weren't updating. I was doing missions for awhile and noticed that it stopped raising above 64% no matter how many contracts I did in that system. I exited the game and logged in again (again getting the construction error mentioned above) to see if that would help. Unfortunately, the clan stats no longer appeared at all. Just figured I'd report it.

Here is a screenshot showing both:

A review of the log indicates you dropped/lost a huge set of TCP packets. Your ID couldn't even be logged with the server, so the initial connection wasn't even completed several times. Were you using a wireless connection or otherwise having other low performance internet issues? If TCP packets are lost inbound or outbound, you will lose details like that and often eventually be disconnected. I would recommend checking your connection to your modem (preferably ethernet cable) and reset your modem, then try again.

I ran into this as well, tonight. So did Busch. I posted about it and another error in the bug thread here:

I don't use wireless and I haven't had any other network performance issues. I never got disconnected though. I will reset my modem and router anyway, just in case. Thanks for the advice, Vice.

I noticed that when I went back on later with only 3 other players that the stats worked. I for one am wireless but getting a 99% signal but that could be part of the problem. I have always been wireless as I don't have a choice so will put up with it if needed.:o:(;)

Object construction error: 51,1268
That means the game was not allowed to build that object in memory. Your system might either have run out of memory or the memory was blocked by an external factor. It's not an error that will cause a crash, but the game is letting you know it is running into memory access problems.

As for the clan stats, perhaps it is server side, but so far, everything there looks ok.

I/we will give it a reset tonight when things are quiet on it, just to make sure. Also, when you sign on, be sure to give the server a full minute or so to complete the updating process for you as a new client. There can be a mountain of data that each player has to be updated for when they join, especially if they are in an area with a lot of custom built stations and territory data and clan stats are some of the last to be updated as secondary gamestate data.

To add to what Vice said, I noticed today that when I logged in there were no clan stats at all. I left the quad map open for a bit while I was on the phone, and then I noticed that, one by one, the clan stats for each system started to appear. After that, they worked fine. I also noticed that if I wait a bit after logging on, I no longer get that Object construction error I mentioned before.

I tested it out and it seems like if I don't wait, and start doing things as soon as I log in, the clan stats will either not appear at all, or will appear but not update beyond what they initially show. Also, if I don't wait for a bit, I continue to get that construction error every time I dock at a station, whereas it doesn't happen if I wait for 1-2 minutes after logging on.

If you have these problems, try waiting a bit after you log on and see if they still happen. I'm interested in knowing if this applies to just me or everyone else. :)

I did a test by letting the main game run completely through the opening sequence all the way to pilot profile selection ( I usually cut it short) then went on-line and all worked good. I will repeat this a few times and report back. May not be anything but will try.;)

Update: I have let the game load completely on both my laptops and both are wireless twice each. I can't say that this is the way to do it but all four tests succeeded with me getting onto MP and with all info showing including the Clan stats. It may be just luck but not letting the intro run its course seems to mess up my chances of a later full MP connection. Good luck all.;)

I suspect you've simply benefited from the server reset and change in how it is now configured. It was done just prior to your initial post (10-25 4:01pm). Other log-ins since then have also been successful. It appears one of the secondary programs in the background may have been interfering with server operation.

The intro sequence consumes the same resources, regardless of whether it plays or not.

Thanks Vice good to know. I do like watching the intro though. :)
