Ok, I know I remember a post about this, but I did a few searches and couldn't find it for some reason.
Is there a way to remove the 3d cockpit from 1st person? It's beautiful and all, but after enjoying the eye candy for awhile I tend to like a more efficient and larger viewable area.

It's in the video options in the main menu and must be deactivated prior to loading a pilot profile - the option isn't accessible from the ESC-Menu ingame.
