Gamepad Question- Adjusting Throttle

Post by TroubledWaters »

Hey, I am loving the demo but I have a quick question about how this game handles gamepads.

I use a Logitech gamepad that pretty much is a replica of the Playstation Dualshock controller, and I was hoping to be able to use the right stick to control thrust. Unfortunately, the game handles this as the default position of the stick as "medium thrust" instead of "no change to thrust". This would mean that in order to travel at maximum speed I would be needing to hold up all of the time, and I would have to hold back always in order to stop. It would be a lot more convenient if the stick functioned as up meaning "increase thrust" and down meaning "decrease thrust" instead of the stick as simply setting thrust. Is there any way to do this?

Also I did not see a way to configure thrust controls on the keyboard, so out the door went my plan of using L2/R2 for thrust control. Is this hard-coded or am I just missing something?

Thanks!

I believe decrease/increase throttle is mapped to W and S by default, as well as on +/- (the ones besides the numbers on the main keyboard). Try remapping those.

Both great ideas, thanks. The W and S key mapping were hidden under the second page of controls and not under flight controls so I got lost for a bit. Thrust controls are now L2/R2. The D-Pad is recognized as a hat control and not buttons, which is okay as I set that to strafing.

Might try xpadder if the thrust control still feels a little uncomfortable, we'll see.
