Planet not possable to land on?

Alright im new to the game so may just be doing something wrong but i have landed on other planets. Im in the wolf system by the wolf planet south of the nebulas not the planet in the nebulas. Following the aproach lights to green and this planet is diffrent than the other couple i landed on. Its shaking and blowing me all over the place....just thinking "Stay on target"... anyway just as i get almost ontop of the platform where the tractor beams should take over my shields go out and i explode....for a good half dozen times. The ship starts to viborate and shake for a couple seconds then shields go out and boom....looking at where the explosions took place at i did not hit anything...what am i doing wrong or do they just not want me there heh...

Also .... is there a faster way to get to the city on a planet i seem to alwayse show up on the wrong side and spend a half hour flying around it...

For a quick descent, jump, outside of the planet, so that you're right on top of the cross marking the citys' location. For landing on a turbulent planet, keep your shield maximised.

Hi Ackibo, welcome to the game and forum. The weather is very bad on Wolf Planet. You have to keep your shields full and keep augmenting to shields and do your bussiness fast...you have only 2 seconds so no, your not doing anything wrong.....LOL...

I've never managed to survive longer than 2 seconds either! Even with shields at max. The inhabitants must be pretty hardy to survive those conditions. If you could land they'd probably pay a fortune for your merchandise as I imagine they don't get much trade down there!

using a centurian frame with shields 10 and lvl 5 cell... i can come in low and slow or high and fast either way i seem to die just a few yards from the platform no mater what.... has anyone managed to land there?

At least one of the Quest missions requires you to activate a message buoy located on the surface of a similar planet. Max shielding, with power transferred to the forward shield, will get 'er done. Usually.

But don't try to land. Just read the message and get back into space, ASAP.

Yes, for 2 seconds and normally. But there is a secret to landing on Wolf which is the same secret as for landing on Earth and that is one secret that is not divulged....

LOL, I was asking for hints to but no one who had succeeded would give me any. I finally figured it out because of a screen shot that I believe Marvin had taken from his ship parked on earth's surface and by observing it very closely....and shortly after as proof I posted a picture of my ship parked on earth's surface. So I keep the tradition of not giving any clues.......or hints.....

....... I qm guessing i should check out your posts on the screenshots thread then, LOL. On the one hand, a hint is awesome. On the other hand, maybe i'll try to figure it out myself for a while. No-one ever said i was the smartest, but i'm still pretty smart. So maybe with a little luck i will figure it out. Someone else sure did! Anyway! Earth! I swear your secrets shall he mine!

The Screenshot is not under the Screenshots thread. It was taken a long time ago under a similar thread as this. I believe called something like "Landing on Earth" or "Is it possible to land on earth" or something like that.....
