How do I become a better pilot?

Post by msimmons »

Any guides on this? As an ex-"ace"-pilot from SWG, I'm having real trouble with sliding & inertia. I would say EM is probably more "realistic" in this respect but it is killing me :p

For example, if I attack a ship, they usually head toward me and fly past. If I attempt a hard turn or a 180, I'm stuck flying backwards for a lot longer than I would like, causing me to try and boost as much as I can to catch up... then they do it again :o

and don't even get me started on that 2nd mission race (yes I have read all the threads on it XD )

Peruse this thread and you'll probably find everything you need:

Cool thanks! I admit, I opened that and when greeted by the chunk of centered, italicized text, my eyes glazed over. It looks like what I have been searching for may be in the 6th heading below "Tutorials, Information, Gameplay Issues and Video's:"

I suspect that section could warrant it's own stickied thread :)

I meant just that section, on its own. Personally I didn't get that far down before giving up on the thread the first two times I opened it.

 If it becomes a very popular topic, it might be stickied. Keeping in mind that too many stickies are almost as bad as no stickies.

Also recovering from inertia slides faster also depends on the kind of ship you are flying and class of Engines and Wings.
This is important for speeds over 2500 because these speeds are the hardest to recover from quickly and the effect of a Faster Agile and Higher Class Engines become noticable above 2500!.....;)
