It could be cool to implement "artifacts" in game and then having access to new missions or quest, but in an open way, not like in an rpg, a little like the mg quest which you dont have to follow to play the full game (i'm goin to do it later)... so you can keep the artifact and collect them (maybe there is artifact combination that opens new possibilities...), sold them, jettison them, hide them another place... exchange them with other players, dunno
just an idea
there could be a story of very old and very advanced alien tech from another dimensional plan, and "stuff" infiltrating our own plan because of inter-plan breaches caused by Mantis technology... (or something else)

Brilliant idea mate.
As an addition it would be cool if a player write his/hers own quest and then
hide an artifact somewhere that triggers that one.

Make the right click nav targeting safe for more than just stations. Namely, safe for planets. You right-click a station, you can drop right in. Clicking on a planet should produce a similar effect, either dropping you on course for the city or a safe distance below on the z-axis.

Ho, i wasn't goin so far, but indeed it could be really cool being able to insert our own quest inside th game, hidden like treasuresFrom post: 138004, Topic: tid=9376, author=SeeJay wrote: Brilliant idea mate.

With a little alert saying when someone find it and start it...
(btw : there is no possibility to have a friend list or acquaintance list in game ? with a short message service... example : you find a great place, you go friend list sending coordinates and little message like "eh man very strange planet here, must look" then person find the message when connect to the universe, in the "news" page for example)
I'll go a little further with my "artifacts" idea in the dedicated section..

The idea of being able to write more complex quests is excellent. At the moment it's hard to write a background story that grabs when all pilots can do is fly from place to place and do normal contracts. Marvin's "Quest for Peace" is well worth doing and he's written a great storyline, but having "artifacts" available (like in the beacon quest from earlier games - dropped to keep the game filesize down) would allow for some real adventures and hence be more tempting for a person or team to create - interactive fan fiction! From post: 138034, Topic: tid=9376, author=mido wrote: Ho, i wasn't goin so far, but indeed it could be really cool being able to insert our own quest inside th game, hidden like treasuresfor unknown space explorers !

As for friend lists - you can use clan communication links to do that, as long as no-one on your "friend list" is already loyal to a clan
R-C did send some info to me by text chat in-game that was private (TS password) so there is some potential already there
There are apparently public TS servers (free) where you can set up "chat rooms" - create on for the friends and even if others can enter and listen in (being public), they probably won't, especially if they don't know it exists. All you need is a mike/headphones and free TS3 software download

You can target any ship and then press Alt+Enter.
Type your message and hit Enter again.
That will send a private text message to that pilot only!

won't help on this one, but Alt-F9 frequently is a life saver!
The jettison button needs to be on its own, twice as big, pulsing in fluorescent colours and with big warning signs and hazard tape around the edges!
I tried putting tape ion the screen, but it leaves marks

Plus, i doubt any futur spaceship builder would make a single command jettison bay button without confirmation of that order !!!!
PLeeeaaaase do it...
I lost nearly 10.000.000 of cargo in this.. jzfhz...
Just wanna look at "news" during take off... little cockpit vibrations and.. wrong button..

It's been brought up at least once in this thread before, but I'd love to see Rebel/Guild/Pirate/Bandit bases in a future release ... perhaps hidden in asteroids or nebulae.

Nope, but the ejection handle isn't next to a couple of the "use quite often with no bad results if I press them accidently" handles. Even the "fire the big fast rockety thing that goes bang and blow things up without having to do anything else" button has a flip over cover on it (even on my toy joystick)

Notice that the External Stores Emergency Release button (lower left corner ... inside the yellow and black striped tube) is situated directly above the oft-used Anti-Skid toggle switch. It's also right next to the ARI (aileron rudder interconnect) circuit breaker. Not shown is the Emergency Canopy Jettion handle further up and to the left ... which is right above the "use quite often" gear handle. (In fact, the Emergency Canopy Jettison handle looks exactly like the Manual Canopy Unlock handle ... with the exception of the yellow and black stripes painted on the Emergency handle.) Also not shown is the (unguarded) Emergency Flaps switch ... which is directly above the normal Flaps switch.
At least one pilot (that I know of) mistakenly pressed the External Stores Emergency Release button ... jettisoning not only his bombs (intentionally) but also his rack (oops). As a side note, another pilot accidently fired off an AIM-9 missile while sitting alert.

That's an awesome gaming rig you have there. Mine isn't quite as impressive. Less buttons / gauges. From post: 138243, Topic: tid=9376, author=Marvin wrote:From post: 138220, Topic: tid=9376, author=DaveK wrote:... the ejection handle isn't next to a couple of the "use quite often with no bad results if I press them accidently" handles ....Below is a photo of the front seat of a Phantom F-4D.

I'd like to see a bank function so you can bank your funds and then withdraw them using another character. Of course I understand that this would have to be in single player as if done in multi, the bank balance would be server dependant and possibly hackable. That wouldn't be the case if done in SP where the bank file is on the client machine.
And it would need to be encrypted so someone couldn't just go in and alter the amount, giving themselved virtually unlimited funds.
