Best way to start out in EM?

noticed the same on the trebuchet.... picked one up a few days ago (didn't pay attention to the attributes).... yield is down to 55 on that one. Found a razor cannon at the starport in Aquila, and it's yield is still at the same level as EL (140), so swapped that one in for the trebuchet (range is less, 450 for the razor vs 550 on the trebuchet, but I'm good with the shorter range for now)

LOL....how come my equipment acts differently from every one else. The Banshee works the same for me as in EL.....was easy for me to take out capship with eight exodus missiles followed up by Banshee and Fusion laser directed to one particular part of the capship and I have only 5 equipment slots and no heat sink.....

It became one of a handful of "special effects" weapons. The damage has been reduced from 250 to 80, and a knockback effect has been added.

In a nutshell, it's annoying to get hit with since it imparts a vector on your ship, but it lacks the raw killing power it used to have.

But I have not experienced the reduction in raw killing power. Infact I had the Phantom in Mercenary for a long time and hardly could destroy anything as quick as I used to with the Banshee in Legends so I went to search for a Banshee in Mercenary and got myself one and it still has the same raw power I was used to. I'm back to making quick kills. The only thing I miss in combat is the quicker recharging Excalibur from Legends. Exodus works fine now one per Vonari but for the 80 or so enemies in a 7 way point mission that means buying 80 exodus missiles...LOL....

Check to make sure you're clicking on the correct icon to launch Mercenary. Else you might still be playing Legends.

That is funny Marv.....how do you know I'm using bifocals and not progressives, I have both. I guess a 50/50 chance, no actually bifocals are more common.......

I never misplace them I use the progressives for driving and I have 2 pairs of bifocals one at my computer and the other I carry with me around for work and around the house.....LOL....

A hint to defeat Maars in combat: Hit his ship with a Banshee shot... the kinetic effect will knock his glasses off and he won't be able to see!
