There's an all platinum mining place somewhere very safe, for beginner ships (no hostiles anywhere in the sector). I mined it, but I was too lazy to return and mine it some more.

Blackthorne I would appreciate that U2U as well....

I am brand new to this universe and it is a bit overwhelming after so many years in the X universe and knowing where everything is and having tools to make trading and finding the good runs simple as feeding a baby.

Thanks in Advance,

You guys are taking all the fun out of the game by asking for other peoples trade routes. Good ones aren't even that hard to find to begin with.

Admittingly, though I'll answer any request for advice. Some people are quite skilled at playing in sandboxes, but quite a few are completely lost.

U2U sent.

I'll tell you that you shouldn't need trade routes. Just find some hidden containers. You can do the IMG Quests, after a couple missions, they will reward you, using that reward, you can go buy a deploy a constructor and hire a science officer. Then you can use his headings when ever he comes up with one for containers and go close to where you think it might be and deploy a sensor station. That will tell you where it is. Remember, Purple blips.

Yea hidden containers can be great, but the best trade routes can make you absolutely filthy rich in no time at all. I'm talking like billions with very little effort.

Once you find the containers in one of the higher economy sectors, you can arm yourself with those weapons (lv 14 Phantom Cannon + Exodus Missiles). Then keep picking up Phantom cannons and selling them. In maybe 10 mintues, you'll have the money to get everything you truly need in the game: starmaster frame, both types of contructors, experimental jump drive, shield storage x5, etc. You may not be able to afford 13 Fulcrum Torpedos, but that isn't too useful. You need to be pretty skilled to use FTs.

 Then, of course, you'll need extra credits if you want to actually build something with a constuctor. Not much, I suppose ... but some.

Well, as I said. The ten minutes will be enough to get enough money to build the stations, too. Not many I suppose if you were to build them out of civilized space, but plenty to build them near the charted systems. Around there, it only costs anywhere between 75000 to 200000 to build one. Out exploring for hidden systems using stations on the way there is another matter, then it costs half a million.

You should try hostile gun running...run guns and equipment into the most hostile stations you can find without ever firing a shot (and without dying). I built up a bunch of trade stations in Pices along with a constructor, then I filled my cargo holds and jumped into Pearl and made a mad dash for the station with the goal of not dying. You sell off your stash and then run back to the gate. Once I got to the point where I could make the run there and back without taking any hits (and without using my afterburner) then I moved on to more complex challenges.

In the end (after about an hour), I got much better at handling my ship, made about 30 million and had a lot of fun.

That's the fun of this game...the options are endless.

I agree the game almost becomes pointless if you do not try to discover your own wealth building system.....;):P
