I use the X52 control system, mounted to a chaise lounge using about $8 worth of clamps from Lowe's, voice recognition (e-speaking) for any keyboard commands I would use, and a Headplay system for the screen. I haven't invested in TrackIR just yet... that's next. :)

It really is immersive. I'm laid prone in this recliner, hands comfortably resting on the throttle and joystick, looking out my "viewscreen" and giving commands to my "ship computer" who responds with a pleasant "Aye, sir". I zoned out this way for 6 hours not long ago.

If anyone else is wanting to mount their X-52 this way, I'll see if I can locate the part numbers at Lowe's. As long as your chair has arms on it, these simple clamps mount both pieces beautifully. No need for $150 "gamer gear" like you see sold on some websites. Took me all of 10 minutes to mount them, with no damage to the chair.

Well, that's a lot less than what I invested!
Good move.

Well as much as I'd love the X52 that's way out of my price range so I just bought myself a Thrustmaster T.Flight HotasX. Not as flashy and fewer button than the x52 but then this only cost £24 vs £80 up for the x52 (£24 was bargain price by the way - seen it much higher, £50 from one seller I saw) It seems to be built realy well and it's big - much bigger than I expected.
For the Price you couldn't get better, 12 buttons, 8way hat, has the option of twist rudder (can be locked if not needed) and also a rocker rudder on the throttle, it can also be seperated if you prefer to have the stick and throttle further appart. Really pleased with it if you can't tell ;) - off to play Evochron now :).
