Personally, I think Capital ships and just about everything else in the game can be expanded on.

it could be kinda cool to put bounties on someone's head in multiplayer, and have the server handle it. kind of like this i guess:
dock to a station, click a bounty button, choose a player, and put money down. the station takes the money, and issues the bounty to everyone. first person who kills them is given the money.

as well in multiplayer, it would be kinda cool if clans could rename the systems they own (temporarly, or for a price of course :P).

one thing i would really like to have is a log book where i can type some notes on what im doing, such as stratagies, and various tasks i want to do in future. if i recall correctly, all you can do right now is put notes on locations.

I don't want to travel in the "I_rock_and_kick_you_999" system just because somebody renamed it like this :D:D:D

The bounty idea is very nice! :D The problem is that in MP you die once, and then come back.
Also (like one of my clanmates does, but I won't say her name :D) your opponent could spawn a lot of times until he (she :D) shoots you down :D

The idea could be changed instead: you have the bounties in Evochron, and if you accept the mission you could find somewhere the AI criminal you're looking for. We already discussed this system in this thread. It would be very nice ;)

I still think it would be really cool if there were systems in MP where death has a larger impact, and players could actually become pirates! (Stealing Cargo, credits, so on and so forth)

I think the idea for some sort of bounties in MP might have quite a bit of potential, although it might need a lot of tweaking. We (probably) don't want the whole place to become like, for instance, places in some MMOs where newbies are insta-killed by high-level players (see ganking, griefers, etc)...

Perhaps a variation could be where the "hunted" also has to accept the bounty. It'd be more like tag, if I catch you, I win the money, but if you kill me, then you get some share of my fortune (there _should_ be a cost for you if you want to be the aggressor, and since death in and of itself isn't one...).

This could be addressed relatively easily: you died trying to hunt your prey (or got killed by it), the bounty is canceled, too bad. And, like I said in my previous post, there would be a cost associated with this for the bounty hunter as well. :)
There should probably also be time limits between consecutive bounties, although if the hunted has to accept the bounty as well in order for it to become active, then this would not be a problem. But we don't want to drive people away by them being hunted non-stop.

Doesn't work very fluidly even in the way you described :D
And I can even change my name to avoid a bounty :D Too hard to make it work in the proper way ;)

Solution : make battleships SP only - that way one meglomaniac won't be able to spoil it for the rest :P:P:P:P:P

That I can live with, in MP it will turn ugly very soon.
Although on the other hand, I don't see a bloat boat dodge a torpedo so they can be blown to dust in a single shot anyway lol. :P

sorry for the off-topic (and silly question), but how can you change your name?...

To keep somewhat on-topic, yeah, I suppose SP-only battleships might have more chances of working; although I tend to agree with others who said that it might turn out to be very boring to fly one of those things, since they would be as maneuverable as a brick (I should know!).

Next thing, we'd be begging Vice to make them more maneuverable, and then even more, and eventually we'll end up with oversized fighters flying around just like regular fighters, and we're back to square one! :)

Moving into fantasy-land, I kinda like the idea of several people (players) manning different gun turrets on a battleship, and synchronizing among themselves through a TeamSpeak-like thing...

Don't bind the firing rate of the laser to that of the cannon.
And put the firing ranges of the various cannons in a smaller interval...
Veteran combat pilots know why these two things ;)

In this way there will be more variety in cannon usage, and not always the same one :D

There is something I was thinking about today, ever since the military ship buff barely anyone flies the civvy's anymore, at least that's the feeling I am getting so far.

They are cargo haulers with the capacity to defend themselves if needed.

But I was thinking if it is possible to add some form of extra bite to the civvy classes in the form of limited fire arc point defense lasers that are auto manned by the science ops and the navigator if you have them onboard.

Weapons ops and the engineer are busy looking after the weapons and the ship if the heat is turned up, but if I was a crewmember on a ship I would like add something to the teeth of my current home if getting attacked instead of just sitting there looking at my science ops station looking for interesting goodies out there or looking where there might be some planet or asteroid belt the pilot may flow into when getting attacked by scum.

Either that or just grab my station and scream like a girl since there is very little else to do for these 2 crewmembers during combat, that's also the reason hardly anyone uses the science ops and navigator as well.

I was thinking something in the line of adding 2 weapon slots to the civvy boats that only become available if you have a science ops and a navigator on board.
Fire arc of maybe 180 degrees left and right of the ship (or the back and the belly), just a dual barrel cannon of the players choice, no additional barrels from a relay system, maaaaybe the faster firing of a cooling system but not really a must have.

In many space games cargo haulers have some form of point defense systems to help them get out of nasty situations.

I think this make people think about what they might prefer to use instead of going for the whoop arse military birds.

Any thoughts, comments or additions to this?
