They will show up on your NavMap when you are within 10 sectors of them and completely zoomed out!....

That's really cool, thanks for the info.

One more question if I may... Since this is 3d space we're talking about.... how spread out is everything on the sY axis? Will I have to comb through the area multiple times at different elevations (well, it's space so that's not the proper term, but you know what I mean) to find everything, or is most stuff within the same narrow band of sY coordinates?

almost everything is within 2 on either side of the galactic horizon.

sp +/- 2 SY

There are a few beyond the SY +/- 2 limit but all within the SY +/- 10, Maybe there are some beyond this but I do not think any one has looked beyond the SY +/- 10 because these would fall out of the zoomed out NavMap any ways!....
