Now that I have Windows 7 Pro 64 bit installed with dual boot to XP. I have mixed feelings about Windows 7. Disapointing in its compatibility mode with many Windows XP 32 bit programs and hardware. It supposed to run Windows XP 32 bit programs in Compatibility mode but many programs I use in XP Windows 7 refuses to run in compatibility mode. Also suport for the game port and midi devices has been removed from Vista and Windows 7. So for Music production using MPU-401 midi through the game port is out of the question since Windows seven list the gameport as Unknown device in Device Manager since there is no support for this port. Other then that Windows 7 is Great, fast and easy to use....and I'm glad I decided to dual boot with Windows XP So I can still run my music applications and other Windows XP programs that Windows 7 will not run. If I had decided to do a clean install upgrade to Windows 7, then I probably would have been very upset coming to find out about the incompatability issues.......Just some feed back if you get an unknown device in Device Manager when upgrading to windows 7 and you can not figure out what it is and has device ID b006 it is your sound cards game port or motherboard intergrated gameport......

Update on Windows 7 Proffesional 64 bit. I got all my music programs and MIDI equipment to run on Windows 7. The only thing I can not get to work is my Scanner...no free drivers for it available I have to buy a driver for it. Also I found out that ASUS does not support P5WD2-E Premium mother board under Windows 7. My new Graphics card ATI Radeon X1900XTX keeps my computer from booting up again after couple of hours of shut down. And I have to completely remove the power supply from my system and hook it back up for it to boot up again at which point I get error beepcodes for the Graphics card. I reinstall my old card and my computer works fine again. Then I reinstall my new card and computer starts up again without any porblems runs fine, then I shut down for the day and come back the next day and same problem, computer will not start up no fans spinning no sounds no lights no life except for the motherboards green led that shows there is power to the system. So I repeat the process again of disconnecting power supply from all power connnections and reinstall my old graphics card and computer runs fine again. And today my computer would not boot up even with my old card installed. Had to uninstall the power supply again and reinstall for the computer to boot up again. Now I am not putting the new Graphics card back in till I figure out what is going on. I have a few Ideas...Like my ASUS Motherboard does not support Windows 7. No drivers to update my motherboard with drivers for the newer support for the newer processors and updating the motherboard chipsets accordingly for Windows 7. The Graphics card I read needs a powersupply that can support at least 38amps on its 12V graphics PCI Express six pin power supply cord which can leave a PSU in shock after a long period of shutdown or can make the graphics card fail at boot up. I might need a new Motherboard and PSU if I want to use my new Graphics card with Windows 7. I also upgraded my system to 6GB of Memory....
Any one else have a problem with ATI X1900 ?

Windows XP forever!
I used to have Win7 Ultimate x32 but had compatibility issues with older games (DOS/Win9x). Now I switched back to WinXP Pro x32 SP3. Allows Win9x games and DOSBox.

I finally got my ATI Radeon X1900XTX working under Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on my Asus P5WD2-E Premium even though there is no support from Asus for this mother board under Windows 7 it still works fine. Windows 7 Pro 64 bit Loads and works 5 times faster then my Windows XP. Windows XP takes for ever to get up running. Windows 7 is up and running in 30 seconds or less. And now that I have everything running I Love it....

I have Windows Vista Ultimate (32 bit). It came with my computer about three years ago. It drove me nuts for about two weeks until I finally got everything working the way I wanted. Since then it has worked very well for me and runs everything from old DOS programs to the latest whiz bang consule ports. I will eventually go to Win 7 64 bit, but I will wait maybe another year until everything gets sorted out gaming-wise for it.

Ran XP for years and was reluctant to try Windows 7 but took the free trial and was instantly sold. Runs all my software (games
) Fast boot times, smoother graphics, etc.

windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)
Move up from XP (which was very stable) - a few problems with HP (A3 photoprinter) and Epson (very high res scanner) who don't provide new drivers, but that is a criticism of poor customer support from HP and Epson
Otherwise it' stable, quick and intuitive.
Can't comment on 32 bit vs 64 bit because I haven't tried 32 bit

64 bit is defenitely faster, depending on your systems hardware. Some older systems are not build to handle the 64bit bandwidth and are 32 bit systems.

I have been using windows 7 since i bought my laptop and so far i really like the interface. it has added features as compared to XP that i really enjoy using. I think i will stick to Windows 7 eventhough Windows 8 is already out because i am already happy with its interface.

Windows 7 64 bit Version. Fast boot times and nice features.
Unfortunately, the AMD Dual Core Optimizer that worked using XP does not work with Windows 7. So you get booted in EM Multiplayer a lot, regardless whose server you are on.

Are you a carpenter or what? I think most people missed your AW reference. It wasn't lost on me, however.
I use Prince NRVL's Win7 x64 Ultimate "Performance Edition".
It's super fast at everything I use it for.
OS load time is about 40 seconds with my Q8400 and 8GB 1066 DDR2. No crashes, glitches, or hiccups whatsoever.
If you're interested, just Google the torrent and get the latest version. You can also use Daz's "Extreme Windows Loader" to crack it- or any Windoze installation.
