I just installed my new videocard, nvidia 8400GS 512mb. Mercenary just looks awesome with all the settings shoved to max!
Now I want to take some screen shots. I've installed a few programs, but they all seem to be having the same problem. Right now, I'm using PicPick. I'm not sure why my screen shots of Mercenary are coming out this way? Any suggestions?
The Gadwin PrintScreen was actually the first program I used because someone mentioned it on Remula One. Gadwin does the same thing on this machine.
Just curious, my screen resolution uses 1920 x 1080. So I have my game options set to a resolution of 1280 x 800 and screen mode on locked (FS). Would that have anything to do with it?
I had this same problem using my integrated nvidia geforce 6150 se. I was hoping the new video card would fix it.
Fraps has a pretty solid method of retrieving image data, if it can't capture it, I'm not sure what the cause might be. You could also switch to the 'Optimized (WM) Max Vsync' screen mode in the Options menu, restart the game, then try again to see if that changes anything.
I shifted the screen mode to the settings you suggested and now the screenshots work fine. To my surprise, Merc is humming right along using my native res 1920 x 1080.
Cool! Glad it's running well at those settings. Your 8400 has enough video memory and horsepower to handle that resolution, so as long as their isn't a bottlneck somewhere else, it should indeed run pretty well on that setup. The optimized mode also lets you utilize Flip3D, alt-tab, and see any dialogue boxes that might pop up.
