Anything in this Asteroid Cave? (spoiler alert)

I've just retired and so should have a bit more playtime

However, I'm still trying to get the hang of controlloing my ship, fighting etc etc. I think that I might have to become a nerdy explorer by default;)

I must admit that I cheated a bit and used CJ's map to find the nearest Asteroid Cave (in Sapphire) just because I've never seen one and it would be fun to fly around inside a rock

Is there anything in there? I've been in, bumped into most of the walls trying to squeeze into anything that looks like a tunnel, but it just seems to be a longish tube. It's good practice for manouvering though!

Someone, sometime thought it worthwhile building a big snazzy entrance, so perhaps I'm missing something. A hint will be fine!

I didn't think to try mining from the inside - I wonder how long it would take to tunnel out? I also wonder whether you can blow an asteroid up from the inside!

Not all caves have stuff. But the stuff in those that do can range anywhere from large, imbedded stations to small containers of minerals, weapons or equipment. Or the energy pod and receiver.

LOL, I remembered playing around in that cave in EL last year. I had marked out a station that was located there.

I spent the better part of two hours in that cave last night in Mercenary and I couldn't find it. I did find the remains of a ship or station that used to be there. I'm curious if the contents changed a bit in Mercenary.

Containers are small and easy to miss if you ignore your radar.

You can also try to use a Cargo scanner in a cave....

Navigators also increase the range at which you can see cargo containers... and of course science officers will alert you to the presence of the containers in a sector when you jump in.
