I.M.G Quest Progression

Post by Logan Malone »

Newb here. Just started a day ago.

Is there a progression list for the I.M.G quests?

I did the first one on New Hope planet, however all I see now are 1-5 missions asking me to do the same type of quests I can get on any space station. I checked and see identical quests in the stations and on the planet base. I have a total of 21 missions completed so far.

While my rank and rep are going up, I feel clueless if I'm progressing in the game accurately. Are all I.M.G missions labeled the same way?

Thanks.

Yes, they are labelled I.M.G. To recall the last message and continue from where you leave off, Inventory Console > News Console > View Last Quest Message.

Hi and welcome Logan Malone.

The quests take you to different locations, so read the last message that will tell you where to go!;)
\"Nothing is impossible, it only takes a bit longer!\"
\"We are not retreating, we are advancing in another direction!\"

It appears I did the first I.M.G. Contract on New Hope planet base. There are no more contracts listed on New Hope indicating they are for I.M.G. There are 4 missions listed, but they are identical to the ones I did on the Sapphire space station. I went to the other two bases on New Hope and they don't have I.M.G Contracts either.

I recalled last contract I did and it begins with...."Congratulations on earning your mercenary license! On occasion we, the IMG.....".

I followed the steps Marvin listed in his Mercenary Tutorial guide at http://www.starwraith.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6644

Any ideas? Thanks.

Hello Logan.

It seams that you still get the first message. To me that sounds like you haven't completed the contract on New Hope with the Satellite delivering. If I recall it right, after that mission you are directed to a different location.

 It looks like you're doing, in the Quest, the same thing you're doing here ... or, rather, not doing: reading the whole thing. You need to read the whole Quest message ... and not just number 2 ... it gets even more important to do so down the line. It might even be a good idea to write down the important stuff.

;) If you have trouble reading the message (it can scroll really fast if you're doing the Quest in MP), take a screen shot* and study the message on your desktop. You will see that ... well, that you're done with New Hope. Time to move on to where the message tells you to go. No more I.M.G. contracts at New Hope.

* Press "Print Screen" ... Press Windows key + "D" ... open MS Paint ... "Paste" your screenie.

Some players have also landed on Sapphire thinking it is New Hope. Make sure to land on New Hope, which is a couple sectors up and left of Sapphire.

Ah, that's exactly what I did...landed on Sapphire thinking it was New Hope, LOL. How embarassed I am now, hehe.

Part of my problem was that the scrolling up/down arrows for message box area isn't working while I'm NOT docked at a station or planet base. When I click on them nothing happens. Can't read the beginning contract message info while it's scrolling up and disappears.

If you using the mouse for flight control, make sure to hold the Alt key if you want to click any HUD buttons/controls. There are also optional key controls for message scrolling if you'd prefer to use those.

I was killed while in a mining ship for no reason today by a player killer/ griefer in Sapphire named Romulan. I thought the new player sector was supposed to be SAFE for new players as the game info reads??

I been in the game a total 3.5 days so far and have less than 30 minutes of combat experience. I need to practice combat skills a lot more before I ever join multi-player again.

I don't mind PvP, but having it forced on newbs in mining ships inside the new player system feels more like a game exploit rather than game mechanics. :o

I feel for you. First day my daughter played Legends MP (working on the Quest) Rommie kept at her ... biding his time until she was in a situation where neither me nor Denny could protect her. So she quit. Both Denny and I complained here, at the forum (I'd wasted a good key code on my daughter) and, supposedly, it was decided that Sapphire would be safe "after the first kill" ... evidently, that has changed.

Rommie doesn't show up often anymore ... but, when he does, there are ways to avoid him and even defeat him.

Hi logan. Romulan is like that. It's pretty much one guy. Other players will always be willing to assist you in exacting revenge. I was on my way to help when you logged off in fact. Do not be discouraged from MP. Events like that are pretty rare, and you will learn the game much quicker in MP than you will muddling through in SP only. Hope to see you back out there.

Hi, don't let romulan worry you. he does that to noobs as a sort of welcome,
it's somewhat of a right of passage here and now that he said hello, i dont think
you will be bothered anymore, (usually) besides, if you shoot back he runs lol

I never had run into Romula myself. I did had 1 new player who try to destroy me 3 time. I switch to self defend and blow up his ship and he left MP right after that.

I think we meet yesterday for a bit and as you already known that people on MP are more willing to help then mess with your game.

I will have to read up on the PvP rules of engagement for the so-called safe space regions then. What's funny to me is that when I played another online space game a few years ago, my first experience was being pod killed by a pirate and I couldn't even see him on my radar but I was in a semi-hostile system though, not the case here. The pirate sent me a personal message saying hello-welcome...and thanks for your stuff.

I'm not discouraged. I was fully fitted for chewing up roids in a mining vessel. I guess I took the "well protected system" description of Sapphire a bit too literal. Oh well, this tells me I can expect just about anything going forward. LOL. Funny stuff. :D

Don't worry about him. He's just a chicken that likes to sneek up cloaked on newbies rear. He was on my six ones, think it was my first MP session. I'll be your wingman any day mate.;)

Sapphire is generally considered to be an attack free area, that is, most people won't attack you in sapphire unless you annoy them. there are a few pilots who ignore that though, like romulan, but you just have to watch out for them

 If it's asteroid mining, try working the high energy nebula ... Rommie can't cloak or fire missiles there.
