Vice, you genius you've really done it this time. I love this game.
A huge improvement on Legends. Interplanitary flying actually looks great, with the vast oceans and the better looking cities.
What is next in the to-do list? The ability to jump out of your ship and walk around on planets? Seeing other AI ships flying busily around their homeword trying to get from their home to their job or something? You continue to amaze me my good man.
I love the new features and hope there is even more fun and eyecandy in the later releases
jump out of the ship would be great.
after weeks/months in a fighter a visit in a local bar or even a real shower would be nice (does the fighters have an toilet?)
maybe a base with bar/market like in privateer or vegastrike for "Mercenaries 2" ?

You can use the one at your deployed trade station ... which is a good reason to buy a Deploy Constructor. You could also use the one at your deployed fuel station but most of those are rather dirty.

O wow. Crazy but good ideas. Being able to walk around on a planet would be cool, but my avatar would be the youngest and most likely be the shortest
But cooool all the same.
Don't worry about your size Oasis. Haven't you heard the expression:
"The bigger you are, the heavier the fall!" (Or something similar)

\"We are not retreating, we are advancing in another direction!\"

I love that line. Especially saying to to some huge dude that's trying to taunt me

Lol. The 2 million+ cost of building a station is rather extravagant just to make toliet stop on your journey!
Well, you can sorta get out of your ship, finally... you just cannot walk around. And if you spend 2+ million on a toilet stop... well, you could make it one darn good toilet. Complete with Spaceballs: The Toilet Paper. XP
I think that getting out of the ship and moving around would be fun though. I think it could add another dimension to gameplay if done well. Evochron: Battlefront, anyone?
This game is sure amazing! Just happened to stumble in it almost accidentally (I haven't even heard of the Evechron series before), tried the demo and found out this game to be perhaps the most detailed and diverse space sim today. Newtonian "flying" model and "working" planets, nebulas etc. with dynamic world and trade are something that is unique in the space sim genre. This is a bit like X3, Elite 2, and IWAR put together, although I don't own the first one.
I'm not a huge space sim player, but EM is something I've tried to find to satisfy my need to boldly go where no man has gone before. So far I have just tried to learn the basics, but already I can say that there is not much you can complain about. Game is technically really good even if it is a small indie production and the space environment in it is the best I've ever seen. There is only one space game I have played which uses space environment as beautifully as this: Shattered Horizon, Future Mark's great online FPS located on the orbits of Earth and Moon. It is of course a very different kind of game, but yet fascinating because of it's theme and surroundings.
I really hope this game draws more attention. I'm from Finland and immediately after my purchase I made a thread about the game to the game section on my countrys most popular computer related internet forum. Game this well made (and cheap too!) deserves a lot of players!
"Welcome Aboard Grunt"...I agree this is the Best space sim...I look forward to seeing you in MP sometime

I can see the game gaining a steady following and growing as time goes by. Elite was a very popular game in it's day and so are it's clone offshoots still. Being able to mod the game will guarrantee longevity. The X series is still being played and modded with a large following.
I agree with the Grunt, this is the best space sim that I've ever played, and, I've played plenty. Sure, we bring up complaints, or suggestions - if you want to be kind. Though, not really complains more nit picking, striving for perfection. Only problem is; we all have different ideas on perfection!
Yes this really is hidden gem. Your reaction is probably the most common response when people discover this amazing game! It's a massive universe with so many things to do and explore. If you read through the forum you'll see that the game is inspiring some tremendous imagination towards its further development, and with Vice (the creator) being such an amazing guy, I'm sure this series has a great future!
Thank you all for warm welcome! And yes, one thing I forgot to mention about Evochron's feateures is an active internet community, which helps to develop the game and of course they bring and help new players to the game
After a few hours of practising the controls and going through tutorials and couple of quests, I've started the campaign for real. Game controls are actually pretty easy to learn. Only thing that is unclear to me is the proper way to start making profitable trade. I know that when you dock to a space station or land in the city, you can check the news section for a hint which goods are of a high or low price in there. But is there any way to get information where you are going to get those wanted goods for a cheap price? Flying to a few places is of course one way, but that consumes a lot of time and of course money in the fuel...
You would think that if you are able to check good prices with internet all over the world today, that same thing would be possible in space few hundered years in the future
One of the features often overlooked is the Economy map ... one of the three maps available in the Quadrant map display. Check your navigation console. The Economy map gives you a general idea as to what's available in certain areas of the galaxy.
Flying to a few places is of course one way, but that consumes a lot of time and of course money in the fuel...
Not really. Prices are fairly stable. Do a bit of exploring ... it doesn't take that long if you use the jumpgates. And when you find a good trade route, stick with it ... it's not likely to change very much.

Trading from low-economy systems to high-economy systems can be pretty profitable, see the quadrant / economy map in the NAV system.
When I was out mining / exploring, I'd jot down the location and cost of minerals. Eventually found a station that I could sell plat for at 11,000-14,000 per unit. From there it didn't take long to get what I wanted, especially once I bought a platinum mining beam (good lord that was an expensive item).
