Ghost ship

While in auto pilot (in Mercenary) I noticed a white blip on my screen ahead that would go by on my left each time I jumped so I disengaged auto pilot when I saw it and approached slowly. This is what I saw. It disappeared after I took this picture. Have not been able to duplicate so far (lol).

Looks a lot like the target ship icon from the right MFD.

LOL That's funny. Maybe it was me... after all my nickname is actually The Ghost Ship. Created in a old school 2d space shooter called SubSpace I use to play where I most commonly took the helm of a "Spider" class ship who's specialty was... you can guess. Cloaking. Ah good times good times.

Perhaps this will also explain to certain people why I have been so focused on getting my hands on a stealth generator

It's part of my namesake for crying out loud.

By the way... nice screenshot. I'm surprised the ship didn't turn and try to kill you. Didn't you know Ghost's don't like having their picture taken. Haha.

I know what that is. That is a towed target practice target that the carriers use to train pilots. During one practice session a fighter's aim was so far off, he cut the towing line and the target drone was set free. Since it was being towed at a high rate of speed at the time, it was not feasible to recover.
So, there you are, a perfectly good explanation.

I had the same ghost ship last night on a long autopilot jump. I kept appearing, moving very fast, left to right. It was a ghost image of my own ship.
