Hi guys. How exactly are you supposed to use probes? Thanks.

Hmmmm, shoulda used the search function first. Think I gotta idea now how to use. Geeeez, I even already asked this question. Sorry, just getting back into the game. I can't EVER find a container! Dang.

Hire a science officer ... he'll tell you about any nearby containers as you enter a sector. Follow his directions and keep a lookout for a purple dot on your radar.

Yes, hire a Science Ops, jump in and out of the sector at 3 different locations, note the position and direction the Science Ops is giving you at each jump and then triangulate the position of the containers...

LOL... I'm not about to do all that math. That's what the Science officer's job is for! Him and/or the Navigator!

Yes, but they never do the math. If they did, they would give you the exact coordinates of the containers.
But nooooo.......all they do is give you pitch and direction and not even a calculated distance....

Geeez it seems like alot of work guys. It's kinda hard for me to visualize a vector right now. Still getting comfortable with the nav map. Thanks for the replys though.

Just point your ship to the pitch and degrees given by the Sience Ops at each jump and note where your targeting or fligth path marker is centered on........

Denny and I did this today ... it helps when you work with someone else who can "sit" at one location while you exit and jump back into the sector. When you get to the point where your last jump location and your current jump location face each other ... you can be pretty sure the cargo is somewhere in between.

LOL, The TupperWare aisle is full of empty containers. I'll rather look in the frozen section freezers for Icecream containers......at least they relatively have something in it......

Oh, I have been on a couple of times last week. Been very busy lately....so not as often has before. And me ribs are fine. It is the spare ones that are killing me......
