The best places to MINE platinum are Lost Rucker and the asteroid field with the big asteroid in it in Pearl (both ALL platinum) The best place to SELL platinum in the emmediate vecinity is definitely Oasis--beautiful planet the:)re, too.

Make sure you have a Sience Officer and Engineer. It will make the minning of platinum go a little bit faster....
