completing contract by mopping up and notes on Evoverse build and deploy and shape

Post by DORN »

I am in Arvoch War Zone and I took the mission of 7 fighters and the capitol ship. I took out 4 or 5 fighters and went back for more missiles, and on a wild hair I decided to try a fulcrum. It worked very well, indeed. All fighters gone and their battle cruiser destroyed and me still alive.

but..... no contract completed message.

I went back and forth to the carrier several times and Arvoch Command, and back to the scene of the battle. I cleaned up the Capitol ship debris. Looked at all of the containers. But there is no one around and I am still stuck in the mission and I can't get out of the mission. It was a one way point mission.

How do I get mission completed. I've run out of ideas.

Thanks

Are you sure you didn't accidently take a spy contract? Either that or use a sensor array to hunt down any fleeing Vonari.

Wasn't the spy contract.

And I did try the sensor deployment, but I was out of range and it would not deploy. (Great idea, BTW)

I thought I could use that to really clean up, but.... no go.

I did it.

I moved the location of where I deployed the Sensor station and it deployed.

After a while it gave me two Vonari contacts. I took them out and got contract completion.

Thanks for the encouragement. I learned something.

 The sensor array, like trade stations and other things, need to be positioned inside the center four squares (actually, they're 3-D blocks) of a sector.

You mean Center 8 blocks or cubes...relatively speaking!....;):P:cool:

 Yes, that's true. Perhaps you'd like to post a diagram of how that would look? ;)

I count 16?

No, 12!

8?, Where are 8. hmmmnnnnn.........Looking, looking.

Ow, my eyes crossed.

That's some diagram Maarschalk. You should get a salary for stuff like this.

BTW, where are the 8?

Strangely, what I see are three layers of red lines.

The top layer has 4 squares outlined by red lines.

The middle layer has four squares I think, but the middle line Z axis is green.

The bottom layer has two larger rectangles enclosed by solid red lines, bisected by a dotted black line.

I guess I am just having trouble seeing 8 cubes of space. Although I think I am close to it.

What I would like to see is the 8 cubes all outlined in solid red.

Thanks,

Dorn

The 3 layers of solid red lines are the 3 layers of the 8 blocks/cubes:

1. the top layer are the 4 squares of the top 4 center cubes
2. the middle layer is the bottom of the top center 4 cubes and the top of the bottom 4 center cubes
3. the bottom layer is the bottom of the 4 bottom center cubes

So 4 top center cubes and 4 bottom center cubes makes 8 Center cubes!....

The bottom layer has 2 mistakes. The 2 middle lines of the bottom red layer should have been dotted red lines!

I shall try to correct this when I have a chance.

It is hard to transform an AutoCad drawing to a decent printscreen jpg picture and get a good quality of it in photobucket!

Also all dotted lines are the hidden lines of the 3D objects.
So I tried to show the outlines solid of the to major sections as seen in an isometric top front right view showing the top front and right of the 2 major sections in solid lines. Blue for the outer sub sectors and red for the inner 8 subsectors!

Thanks Maarschalk,

Yep, I am seeing them now.

1. So those are the 4 cubes above the 0 axis plane and 4 cubes below the 0 axis plane in which something can be built and deployed.

2. Each of those cubes is a sub sector.

3. And the block of 8 cube/subsectors is centered around the X = 0, Z = 0, and Y = 0 coordinate in each system?

A sector is 200.000 x 200.000 x 200.000 in range.

The permitted area to build in is within +/-50.000 from the center of the sector.
Each of the 8 center cubes are then 50.000 x 50.000 x 50.000
Total area to build in is now 100.000 x 100.000 x 100.000

So the answer to your 3rd question is Yes, but replace your "system" with "sector"!;)

 Which is why I always suggest you use Vice's format of choice: PNG. When uploaded to Photobucket, you get better quality.

The problem is not so much the format but more the resolution settings in Paint when you paste the printscreen shot in it!

I have tried both formats with photo bucket and most of the time the jpg was better quality depending on size and resolution!
relatively speaking that is!......;):P:cool:

Hi Seejay,

So build and deploy can occur in each sector all throughout the Universe?

Yes, with some limitations. To far out from the main systems
core, deep space travelers have noticed that it's not possible.

In some systems you can build a tradestation but you will not
get any contracts there.

And the "rule" that there has to be at least 1 empty sector
between trade stations.

Wonderful illustration Maarschalk. Thank you.

To take my 3D image one step further now, have the sizes of Planetary Systems been mapped starting from 0,0,0 along the SX,SZ,SY co-ordinates ? Eg: Saphire, Pearl, etc.

 A map that size would probably take up an entire wall. (Two walls, actually ... one in Top View and one in Rear View.) ;)

I could still deploy (fuel stations and shield arrays for example) at 250 000 sectors out from Sapphire, but building stations stops around 20 000 sectors -hence no building in Andromeda!

 Yeah, I think somebody wrote a manual explaining why it works that way. Wish I could remember who it was. Somebody from the UK, I think. ;)

So to find the sizes of Saphire and Pearl I am going to have to fly them on their XZY and take notes?
