How do you come to a full stop?

I just downloaded the game (which is awesome so far...)

I'm not sure why, but for some reason I can't get my speed down below about 22. I've tried the joystick control and the keyboard, but it won't go all the way down to zero (which makes things a little difficult when I try to do any mining)

Is that the way the ship is supposed to be?

You can try to increase the DEAD ZONE on your Joystick if you are using that as a speed control. With the IDS on and hitting the Backspace key should bring you to zero if nothing else is affecting your speed such as being near a gravity well.

If you haven't already done so, use the option in Control Panel to calibrate your joystick.
