Game freezes.

I've seen multiple instances of this bug lately. It happens to several people on the server at the same time.
The game freezes out of nowhere, and the only solution is to press alt F4.
It happened on both ceti alpha and starport 6 servers, so the problem is not server related.
The people who get it aren't consistent either.
I was with Hawkeye. first time, me and hawk froze at the same time. next time, I alone froze with a couple of other guys, but hawk didn't. this happened about 5 times already.
I'd also like to note that it only happened to me while doing contracts.

I heard the same thing reported last week, i thought it was a one time glitch
then the other night it happened to me so i started digging into the server for clues.

while playing, me and 3 other players all froze up.
the server showed our pings off the scale (3 red dashes)
had to alt tab out and end process in task manager to exit game.

no other players affected and server was running fine for others.

Update: May have an idea in mind as to a caused, the questions below may help me pin it down.

Did it happen at a specific event? Such as, right after accepting a contract, a new player joins, exiting a station/city/carrier, or right when a contract is completed, etc.

Also, is it only impacting players who are in the same sector?

And is it only happening in war zones? Or specific sectors (and if so, which ones)?

It happens to people anywhere. Every time it happened to me it was when I was doing contracts. Possibly at certain events.

So two people in different sectors could have it happen at the same time? If so, then it won't be what I was thinking (game-side issue) and it must be something else maybe connection related.

Also, it only happens in multiplayer, correct?

I don't know if it happens only in MP, I do know it happens on any server, and with a lot of people at the same time.

They key for me to know if it's something game-side that I can fix or if it's something I can't do anything about is whether it effects only players in the same sector at the time of a freeze, or if players in different sectors freeze out also. If the former, then it may be a game-side issue that I can address in an update. If the latter, it may be an unrelated connection issue.

when it happened to me, I was sitting idle in saphire, other players affected were in another system and i think they were doing contracts.
I will look in the log and try to get there location and see if they were indeed doing contracts.

A possible fix has been installed this morning on Ceti Alpha V around 8am est (sorry if you got booted)

I watched about six guys get dropped last night (Pacific time) ... but they were all in the same sector, in battle.

Which sector? That will help significantly in the tracing of the issue.

We had the same thing when we were doing contracts with our clan. All of our clanners froze at the same time.
This was 1 sector right of the star in alpha centauri.

There were potentially two causes for this. One primary was leaving the sector while in third person view. A secondary was with the contract pool was resorted (events that trigger it are when new inventory items become available and if a contract is completed or failed). Both should now be fixed for the next update.

For your information, I have seen 3 players disconnected on french server Olympus Prime. Two were disconnected in the Talison war zone at the same time repeatedly . One was complaining of freezes. After some time, the other in another zone was also disconnected.

Of four players, I was the only one who experienced nothing except the usual temporary stuttering. This stuttering is like a freeze but its duration is less than 10 s.

I had another freeze, exactly the same circumstances as before: I was sitting in our homeworld station at the most right planet of deneb, about to do contracts.
