So I've been messing around with this game recently and seem to have most of the basics down, but still have some issues.
At first I thought the speed I was going at (around 640) was the max speed of my ship, but found about about the IDS throttling using 7 and 9 so I found out I can go faster than that (which is great, don't feel slow anymore). The problem is that with autopilot my max speed never increases. I can have my IDS at 5X and manually be able to go over 3000, but if I hit autopilot my ship slows all the way down to ~640 and I am stuck at that speed unless I turn autopilot off and manually increase my speed again.
Is there anyway to increase my autopilot speed or am I stuck with autopiloting to get on course, turning it off and then upping my speed manually while not moving my ship?
Also, I have an issue with navigation in general. Mainly the map. I can get to where I am going well if I know where I am going (I know about top view and rear view, saving coords for future use, ect) but I have issues finding anything. One thing that bugs me is how say I zoom out and right click elsewhere to zoom in there and look at that section, if I zoom out I am back to looking where I originally was as opposed to zoomed out from where I had zoomed in to. Am I doing something wrong or is that something I'll just have to get used to?
For some sections when I am zoomed out I will see a blue marker for a station and I right click to zoom in, but when I zoom in the marker is gone. I know I zoom in on the right place as I will place a nav marker while zoomed out and when I zoom in it is there, just without the blue station. Is that a bug or what?
How do I view other squadrants? Or am I only able to view them on the map if I go there?
Finally, how do I find a specific place? A lot of distress signals come up, but I have no idea where the planets are. Are locations things I will just have to memorize? Trying to find Sector 5 right now, but am unable to (I'm thinking it might be that disappearing blue marker, I'll probably just end up heading there and checking it out).
Thanks in advance.

q1:There is no way you can increase autopilot speed.
q2:The zooming you'll have to get used to I guess.
q3:This is possible when you see a station that is not on the same Y coordinate as you. Try looking at that station from rear view, you'll see that it is on a different height level.
q4: you can only see the map in your own proximity
q5: Look at the coordinates, mainly the sector coordinates. The look at the quadrant map, and see what system is the closest to that. then try to get there in time, and go to the specific sector and in sector coordinates. You'll get used to that in time.
