I read a post on here by someone, I forget who, saying that it is possible to have your main monitor as the cockpit and stuff, and another monitor as the map. How do you go about setting this up?

Hi Gaz, welcome to Evochron!
I don't think the in-game Nav Map can be displayed seperately on another monitor (and neither the other in-game readouts). But there is a very good map and GPS program called Evometrics you can use on a separate monitor that connects with the game and shows you in real-time your location on the map. Check SeeJay's site in the downloads section:http://mercenary.junholt.se

I do it
You obviously need two monitors - the game automatically runs in the main monitor. You then load up your "extras" (I use Evometrics and EM_Tools and (when I'm in explorer mode) Map Log and drag them onto the second monitor. I also have displays for my chip temperatures and network speeds etc which also look cool (OK - I'm sad
)
As MCCON says, you can't show your in-game HUD displays like that. Some people have had (some) success with spreading the game screen over two or thee monitors but it seems complex and there is the issue of screen edges as well!
I couldn't fly without EvoMetrics to show me where I am and EM_Tools to show me what's going on in my ship - my absolute dream would be the Evometrics map in the EM_Tools readout!

EDIT - it's late and the typo's slipped through

Sounds like this is the one you're looking for:
Another Cockpit
Edit: Having woken up and re-read the OP, I'm probably wrong

I do use EM_Tool on another computer across network and evometric on same separate laptop on a browser, i like to have that separate unit for navigation only.
