When you are looking at the server list, rightclick on a server to see who is currently online. We come from all over the planet so different servers are busy at different times, so feel free to switch back and forth between them, your progress goes with you.
If you are interested in PvP check out the Clan/Roloeplaying forum and the PRAETORS PvP JOUST CONTEST thread in particular.

I live in Australia and have found I have to go online during USA prime time. Between 7PM and 1AM EST is best. This will cover both East and West USA prime times. That is when the larger number of players are active.
