Is it part of the game to have your personal station licenses cancel automatically during an extended absence from the system? Is there a way of preventing this from happening other than don't leave your system?

If you pay to get a license it will remain.
What you may have done is to pay a docking fee. That is for 1 visit only.
Also if this was in MP, that station that you bought a license at might have been destroyed (player build station).
Even if someone rebuilds it with the same name, you'll need to by a new license.
If any of the above wasn't the case, I don't know. Might be a bug?
A bought license is for "ever". At least if you don't cancel it by clicking that cancel license button!

This is in SP. I built the station myself above a planet in F862.
I returned to Sapphire to work some more on my training quest, came back and the "builder's license" had been canceled.
The same thing happened before at the first station I built in Rucker.

Yes. When you build you get a license! From post: 136962, Topic: tid=9338, author=westernnomad wrote:Not a chance, this is the only character who can afford a constructor at this time.
Could it be that I'm misunderstanding about construction? If you built it, you own the license until you cancel it, right?
It shouldn't matter if you leave the system or not. The license should remain until you
cancel it.

Then it must be a bug. I take the scenic route to sapphire, owning the license, return from Olympus, and it's asking 9M+ to buy a new license.
Not a huge deal when platinum is selling for 10,000+, but still annoying.

I'm sure Vice will help you out when he reads this.
It might help to send him your profile for investigation.
One thought just hit me:
Are you using the same profile?
If you build with one profile and dock with another, you will not have the license!

Yes, please do send me the profile for review. Include the details on where the station is and try to save the profile near the station in question. I'm not aware of any lost license issues with a player built station, but I'll look into it.

By profile, I'm assuming you mean a savegame for the character in question? I've had no luck finding the profile in the steamapps\\common\\evochron mercenary folder. Where do I find it?

I am wondering if the lose is due to such as a player using Pilot position #1 building a station then saving to pilot position #2. In this situation ( I do this a lot) only the pilot in position #1 will have the license as when I load pilot #2 it does not carry over. I thought this was an interned scenario. From post: 136992, Topic: tid=9338, author=Vice wrote: Yes, please do send me the profile for review. fyi: I purchased another license after the original was lost. I'm currently docked there. From post: 136992, Topic: tid=9338, author=Vice wrote: Yes, please do send me the profile for review. thetiebers suggestion, I don't believe is correct. I use quick save and the default save on exit.

quick question, if i buy a license at a station, do i have to pay hangar fees at said station? cause i dont see a whole lot of benefit for a 10million credit license..

Yes, as could be expected, this profile looks ok with the active license. If you can catch the error again, please send me the profile with the license not working.fyi: I purchased another license after the original was lost. I'm currently docked there.

Don't know about the hangar fees, but the benefit is reduced prices on equipment and commodoties that you can sell at a station where you don't have a license. From post: 137003, Topic: tid=9338, author=Kilgore wrote:quick question, if i buy a license at a station, do i have to pay hangar fees at said station? cause i dont see a whole lot of benefit for a 10million credit license..
I purchased a license for 10 million and made more than twice that with 1 run running FD Torpedoes. The run takes 4 or 5 minutes, if you're slow.

Yes, you still pay Hangar storage fees. Some one has to take care and look after your equipment, while you are gone!...From post: 137003, Topic: tid=9338, author=Kilgore wrote:quick question, if i buy a license at a station, do i have to pay hangar fees at said station? cause i dont see a whole lot of benefit for a 10million credit license..
