Making Money

Hey guys,

Love the game. Just bought it and then bought it for my mate, seeing as it was half price on steam

I'm off to a good start with mining, making money which is good. Having difficult navigating to accepted missions, I just don't know where I'm going.

I have about 300k, I hope that's enough for basic upgrades for combat, get in there. But I've not shot anyone yet.

I'm new to the game myself, but after about 40-50 hours in, I can tell you combat in space is dauting, takes time to learn, but a very rewarding, fun experience once you learn the ropes.

For starters, check out this site http://evochron.junholt.se/ and click on tutorials. There are a couple PDF files with hints and tips, too. You should read everything you find, gather info on ship frames, equipment, weapons, combat strategies etc and then prepare for battle accordingly.

Read, learn and stick to some basic rules in combat. I won't list them here because you'll find/read many good rules, and there's no fixed approach to this, you have to find out what works best for you.

As a starter, when you take a mission the game automatically sets a destination (nav waypoint) point for you so all you do is push f2 to jump there. DO NOT hit ALT&F2 only f2 by itself. Give it a try and see for yourself.

Stri,

I figured since your post title is about money, I would chime in...

I started out mining the hard way( as everyone does ) - get a load, take it in, go back, etc, etc... Then I figured out that if I get close enough to another ship, outside a station, I could open the trade window( F4 Key ) and in the bottom right corner, there is a button to hire that ship. So I hired two of them, and we went mining.

Then, I discovered Build/Deploy Constructors( pay attention, this is important to my next two statements )...

That led to mining probes, while we mined another Rocks. Then I discovered the classic 'Traveling Salesman'!

In less than 2 hours I had $35 million and a Pretty good ship, for a n00b!
