players cannot see me

hello im haveing some trouble. i set up a private server for me and my brother to play this game. we log in fine but i can see his ship but he cannot see mine. any help would be very welcome. oh and one more thing we both download the mod for hdr but we can not use them and connect to the server. im using the 2d server but its the same useing the 3d also.

Make sure your UDP port is configured properly for hosting.

i have the router's tcp and udp set correctly. and firewall is allowing the it to run.

anyone else have a problem with not being able to connect to a server while using the HDR mod. i know its just for pretier visuals but any idea why it would cause it to not connect to a private server using either 2d/3d?. and the tcp is set to tcp 3888 and udp 3889 in the router.
