Hi everyone.

Love this game an awful lot, even just moments after trying out the demo. Only trouble I have is with contracts failing anytime I try to jump to the objective. I've been poking around the forums to find a solution to this but with no such luck. Anyone else have this kind of problem?

Thanks!

Well come to the Evochron Universe :)

That is an odd problem... contracts are in sector, and your Nav Point changes to it when you accept one. Are you moving your Nav Point out of sector after you take a contract?

Actually, I'm not doing anything with the nav point at all after accepting a contract. For example, I fly to a space station and accept a contract to clean a solar panel. Upon accepting the contract, I leave the dock and hit the jump button. I arrive at the mission way point and am immediately told that I failed the mission. However, if I take the time to fly to the mission way point without jumping, I can complete the contract no problem.

So I don't think I'm doing anything wrong or missing anything but having to after-burn to each mission waypoint isn't so much fun. XD

Hopefully there is a step or something that I'm missing because I love this game otherwise. I can see myself spending far too much time in it.

That ia really odd. I've never ran into this problem before. Hopefully someone else might know of a solution. Don't give up :)

My guess is you are using Mouse control and
holding ALT to get the mouse pointer over the jump button on screen?
If that is the case you can use F2 keyboard instead for jump.

ALT + jump does a full Jumpdrive range jump straight ahead.

Hey Maverick! Welcome aboard! As you acquire more skills (yes, thru practise), you'll actually be able to turn away from the way-point marker for the contract, aim and fire the go button, get there quicker, and back home with the bacon! Sound advice from Miaz. F2 works very well for in-system contractual efforts, and for having a jump "spot" logged for escape-from-furball needs. :)

Hi and welcome Maverick.

Many pilots make that mistake in the beginning. I always use F2 for jumps, but I moved it to F9 since
I hit that one several times when I wanted to open my map (F1). Jumping inside a dock can be very bad LOL!
Especially if you are on a carrier;)

Hope to see you out there!

 This is probably the best piece of advice you can give a new pilot. Reassign F2 to something else ... not necessarily F9, though.

Thanks for all the great tips along with the warm welcome! Once I can wrap my head around everything, I might have to poke my head into multiplayer and see how the pans out.
